recently as now.

And the Declaration of Independence is a list of greivances against
King George III of England, and an explanation about why the colonies
are in revolt. If the DOI is still in effect, whom are we revolting
against that has ruled over us and caused us so much oppression, and
whom are we fighting for our independence? To the best of my
knowledge, we have been recognized as an independent nation for over
220 years.

Learning a dead European language does not make you well educated, Al.

Learning makes one educated. You should learn the meaning of a word
before misusing it.

You would do better to learn to use a language still being used such
as English.

I know English well enough to have taught it and to have been
published in it. That still doesn't make familiarity with a foreign
language useless, even if the foreign language isn't currently used.
Speaking of doing better, you would do better to take your nose out of

Hell, I got a pretty good grounding in Latin in grade school, of course I was
raised Catholic back in the 50's, most of us in those schools did learn at
least some Latin.
