A Fine Line Between Abortion and Manslaughter |
"A WOMAN who gave birth at home to a live fetus after being given
abortion drugs had been put at risk through a lack of medical care, a
court was told today.
Dr Sood is the first New South Wales medical practitioner since 1971 to
be charged with the manslaughter of a fetus.
She is also charged with administering a drug with intent to procure a
miscarriage.
Crown Prosecutor Paul Leask told the court the woman had gone into
labour at home after being treated with oral and vaginal tablets at Dr
Sood's clinic.
The woman had rung Dr Sood, who told her to take a Panadol or Nurofen
tablet, Mr Leask said.
The following day, about 3.30am, the woman gave birth on the toilet at
home. Her infant son weighed 520g and died three hours later."

The incident was three years ago and they are just now bringing
charges?

Hmmm.... Seems the the case is one of overcharging for abortion
services. Wild allegations by the prosecution are not news. Nor are
Pro-Lifers taking unproven allegations and treating them as fact.
