A good example of why camera's are beneficial |
Recently the debate in here has been over the use of surveillance
camera's. Some feel as if the Government is invading our privacy, some
say that the use of camera's on public streets and in buildings are not
an invasion of privacy.
Recent bombings in London have hightened our awareness once again and
reminded us of just how vunerable we are to terrorism. However, we can
see in London with the use of camera's that camera's do serve a
purpose.
With the use of camera's London police were able to identify suspects
and follow them. The public was also able to see the images of the
suspects. Today, London police chased down and shot one of the
suspects.
We no longer live in the kind of world we once lived in prior to 9/11.
Today, we live in a world where we don't know who the enemy is or when
the enemy will strike. Freedom is a fragile thing and sometimes people
take it for granted. A right to privacy is expected in our homes;
however, when we walk in the public streets there is no expectation of
privacy.
The Fourth Amendment says that we shall not be subjected to unlawful
search and seizure. Using camera's on our public streets and in
buildings is not an unlawful search and/or seizure. In fact, we see
the benefits of the camera in London and we should realize that this is
the new world we live in today.

I'm all for the use of cameras - as long as they're out on the streets and
in public places. Who cares if Big Brother is watching people on the
streets, in public buildings and subways? Stores have had cameras for years
now.

No, because it's an easy opportunity to show how hypocritical you can
be. You often times discuss many issues in alt.abortion that have
absolutely nothing to do with abortion. Example: Discussions on WWII,
where you and I both agree on the issue.
I am just trying to save you some embarrassment, but hey..if you want
to embarrass yourself and be hypocritical, be my guest. But don't be
surprised when others see your hypocrisy as well.

I agree. However, that has nothing to do with pointing out other
posts which are also off topic.

I am not embarrassed at all. I agree I frequently participate in off
topic discussions here, but that does nothing to make them less off
topic. If you or anyone else wishes to point out they are also off
topic I have no problem with that being done.
And the origional post under this thread has nothing to do with
abortion and thus is off topic here.

Moron,
Terrorism can not be prevented; however, with camera's we can deter
some who might try it including other would be criminals.
You are the moron who can't understand the benefit's of using camera's

The tragic incident that happened in London could not be prevented;
however, with the faces being displayed there is a better chance people
will be able to identify and they can be captured.

*****, do a little research.
While camera's will never totally prevent crime and terrorism can never
be totally prevented, camera's still offer the best solution by far in
helping to deter some crime and aiding criminal investigators in
capturing and prosecuting criminals.
Now I know you have a hard time reading and understanding so let me
