An oblation of epistemological confusion between image and reality.
George Bush is not a cowboy. Never was. Ronald Reagan was a movie
star and a politician, not a cowboy. Sheesh.

Unelected or no, he's still President. That was more or less settled
in December 2000 -- and it's a little late to contest it now.
Of course one can hope for a Democratic replacement in 2004.

That would be the beginning of the end of America.

You're going to have to clarify that comment. Of course America
has survived Democratic administrations before -- 1993-2001 was
a remarkable stretch, for example, to say nothing of 1977-1981.
In a way, Carter was doing a little *too* well, economically
speaking -- although I'm not entirely certain what would cause
such a tight money crunch with 19%+ prime lending rates.
And then there was 1929-1944.
But yes, we should re-elect Bush in 2004, obviously. That way, we
can be guaranteed of the following:
[1] The overturn of Roe vs. Wade, after Bush appoints up to three
new Chief Justices and someone files a case. Of course, that
would mean he'd finally be able to put a nationwide Abortion Ban
in place ("No Child Left Behind II?"), which Congress would
immediately pass, if Bush's coattails are long enough to put 61
Republicans in the Senate.
[2] Continued deficit spending, until programs for the poor get cut
as he desires.
[3] Continued tax cuts courtesy of Uncle Sam to large corporations.
Obviously this is best for the poor, as they continue to be shut
out by the "jobless recovery". Many of these poor are single moms.
But never mind them; they're only important for the creation of
future citizenry.
Watch for a pleasant surprise come this summer. (For some variant of
"pleasant".)

What a crock. The men who bombed the WTC were vigorously pursued while
Cinton was in office, they were caught, and they are in jail. Bush knew
full well of the threat bin Laden posed to the states before 9/11
happened. He knew of bin Laden's dangerous status when Bush took office,
yet he sat on plans Clinton drew up to take out bin Laden and did a
great big nothing. So did the House Republicans when Clinton urged them
to fund additional anti-terrorism efforts; they just accused Clinton of
trying to wag the dog's tail.

The Republicans are doing a remarkably good job of that.

Dems don't have the stomach to fight
terrorism.

Bush is more interested in starting wars than he's interested in
fighting terrorism. His solution to terrorism is to become a
terrorist. The 9/11 attackers killed 3,000 people. Bush has killed
closer to 15,000.

Ah, but remember -- the Republicans have to destroy the
Union (or at least most of its ideals) in order to save it
from the even worse destruction that terrorism would bring.
Yeah, darn those pesky terrorists, always destroying things.
Blame it on them.
Then watch as we all start buying binocs and cameras to
watch each other, a la _1984_. Can't be too careful.
Just remember: it's the Middle East we hate this week. :-)

Agreed. This next presidential campaign ought to be a real humdinger once
a Democratic nominee is selected. Bush might actually be called upon to
have an original thought.
