Keystone Kops "Terrorists" are a JOKE!
**Real** Terrorists may very well not even EXIST.
Who knows what group of klowns has caused it, but compared
to *real* terrorists -- which seem more and more to be nonexistent
bogeymen -- some inept terrorist wanna-bes have managed to
fleetingly (as in, or only one day, in that resilient city) disrupt London
on 7/7/05 by killing and injuring a handful of people in the city's
transportation system.
Yes -- I did say "handful.," because compared to what some
slightly more serious terrorists did in Madrid, Spain, 911 days after
"9/11," the London attacks comprised a tempest in a teapot.
And even Madrid was NOTHING compared to what **real**
terrorists could accomplish -- IF they were serious. Or even really
existed. Which they very well may not. We'll call those hypothetical
terrorists, "MAXI-Terrorists," vis-a-vis the "MINI-Terrorists" that are
all that the world has actually experienced to date.
REAL terrorists would be playing out such scenarios as dumping
anthrax from the tops of skyscrapers... spreading smallpox via aerosol
spray in busy world airports... perhaps playing out a scenario like the
"Santa Ana Firestorm" one (described below) that I speculated on
a month after 9/11, and which Hal Lindsey apparently saw and then
related in his TBN TV broadcast... or setting off a smuggled A-Bomb
or H-Bomb in a major city.
Today's ACTUAL would-be terrorists -- the MINI-Terrorists -- are
nothing but a sick JOKE!
NOT, of course, to that handful of victims of their vicious, criminal,
and unconscionable acts in London, this morning, or to their families
and friends. And of course, just as happened after 9/11 and Madrid,
our hearts go out to them. ONE person killed or injured in so pointless
and despicable a manner is one too many.
But *Israelis* today, while no doubt also feeling that way about this,
probably also are going "Ho-hum," as they recall the worse such very
prolonged siege that has played out almost routinely in their nation for
years. And things are worse *yet* in the Iraq-That-Bush-Made.
As this is written (on 7/8/05), we don't know who is responsible for
these loathsome attacks in London. But we will learn. And then it's
most important that overreaction in the form of nonsensical "Patriot
Acts," etc., which deprive NON-terrorists of legitimate rights, NOT be
allowed to erode any free nation's liberties.
On Oct. 30, 2001 (around 7 weeks after the 9/11 attacks, I posted
this in Usenet:
A couple of weeks ago, I responded to a government
request to all Americans (which was particularly targeted
to creative writers) for possible scenarios that terrorists
might employ. So far, I've come up with five... (1) The
"Powdered-Anthrax Dispersion from windows of tall build-
ings in multiple cities, simultaneously," scenario... (2) The
"Initiation of Nv CJD (New variant Creuzfeld Jacob Disease;
also spelled, "New variant Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease") into
meat distribution centers" scenario... (3) The "Simultaneous
Introduction of Hoof-and-Mouth Disease into beef cattle
ranches and dairy farms, nationwide" scenario... (4) The
"Smallpox-Dispersal at Hartsfield and O'Hare Airports"
(outside the secure areas) scenario... and (5) The
"Santa-Ana-Wind-Impelled Firestorm" scenario.
Three of these (except the Anthrax Dispersion one, and
the Hoof-and-Mouth Disease one, for which I could think
of no feasible defenses) included my suggestions for
possible defensive counter-measures that could be taken.
When one realizes what the terrorists COULD do, with
far less planning and personal risk/suicide, the Sept. 11th
attack PALES by comparison.
Some of these are presented herein, in different order from
the above. The next in this series of scenarios that could be
carried out by the apparently-nonexistent MAXI-Terrorists is the
following:
MAXI-Terrorist Scenario #3
"The New-variant Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease")
into meat distribution centers" Scenario
This is the most innocuous, and one of the scariest, of
the scenarios I believe that Maxi-Terrorists could carry out.
In this one, the terrorists secretly and innocuously introduce
the Nv CJD microorganism into one or more of the nation's key
meat processing and distribution centers.
In cattle, this same pathogen simply goes by a different
acronym & name -- Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy (BSE)
-- commonly called "Mad Cow Disease."
The meat that could be tainted by Maxi-Terrorists would,
almost certainly, be hamburger and sausage meat, which would
be used in most of the burgers, tacos, breakfast food (such as
sausages and sausage patties) served at most of the fast-food
outlets as their main fare.
As scary as Nv CJD is to humans -- and BSE for the cattle --
the WORST aspect is it's insidiousness. If it could be intro-
duced into large quantities of the meat distributed to fast-food
outlets nationwide, THESE aspects are of significance:
(1) It would probably go undetected, and untold tens of
MILLIONS of people would eat it. And show NO signs
of illness. It could already have been DONE -- *weeks*
ago... and we probably would not yet know about it!
(2) Nv CJD is a condition which destroys the central
nervous system.
(3) It has in incubation period of *up to* TWENTY YEARS!
(4) The average age at which the disease appears is 27,
although (in Britain) the youngest victim was 14 and
the oldest, 74 years of age.
(5) It causes death within an average of 13 months from
the first signs of the symptoms.
(6) Early symptoms are personality disorder, twitching
forearms and lack of balance Very soon the victim
loses the ability to walk and becomes bedridden.
(7) There is NO treatment or cure.
America's CDC describes BSE and Nv CJD as follows:
"Both disorders are invariably fatal brain diseases with
unusually long incubation periods measured in years, and
are caused by an unconventional transmissible agent."
But it gets even worse! Britain has taken steps to
prevent FURTHER spread of Nv CJD to humans... but --
it is thought that up to 100,000 people in Britain could have
been infected with Nv CJD before stringent safety measures
were put into practice in the late 1990s. And as things
stand now -- if that is the case -- ALL of those people are
doomed to die horribly over the next 10-15 years.
And THAT'S what makes the Nv CJD terrorist scenario
BOTH scary AND horrendous: It could kill over 100 million
Americans -- in a most horrendous manner -- over the 20-
year-long period following an UNDETECTED initial infection
to a totally unsuspecting and vulnerable population!

Even though today's breed of Mini-Terrorists appear to
be DOLTS (as evidenced by their apparent inability to accom-
plish any sort of MASS damage, despite their apparent dedica-
tion, the above scenario almost surely has occurred to them.
So what's puzzling is the inexplicable question -- What deters
today's MINI-Terrorists from being MAXI-Terrorists? We can
all be thankful that they DO appear to be that gutless, but
since the penalty if they were to be captured probably would
be the same either way, one must wonder *what* is deterring
them. (???)
Here in these newsgroups, we participants can probably
come up with many OTHER scenarios to fulfill the military's
request for ideas. I encourage you to do with them as I have
done, and simultaneously e-mail your concepts to Secretary

(I'd like to think that this has happened to some degree,
but between 2002 and now, I've seen nothing but abject
APATHY in Usenet, in that regard, instead. Incredible!!)
Forewarned is forearmed, in such a war as this. Vigilance
is prudent, but overreaction is extreme, and the latter would no
doubt be celebrated by terrorists.
Unfortunately, though, thanks to our Congress, we ALSO
have been forewarned against overreacting out of paranoia, as
we saw happen in the case of the perfidious (and probably
UN-Constitutional on *many* levels. It NEEDS a good strong
Constitutional challenge to be launched at it, and taken to the
U.S. Supreme Court, on its more extreme provisions. So far,
those capable of challenging it seem to have been too GUT-
LESS to do it -- unfortunately.
