Almost NO *Actual* Christians would want anything to do with THIS faction. |

Andrew W. <ajwerner@optushome.com.au> wrote:
Proof Christianity is a mental illness.
Wrong. 83% of Americans profess Christianity. (Just to
consider the American aspect of this problem.)
*OF* that number, 94% are ACTUAL Christians: very normal,
sensible, fair-minded, and tolerant people who have NO desire
to support or promote hateful and loathsome agendas against
human rights and the personal liberties of tens of millions of people.
The *other* 6% of those who *profess* Christianity are the
USA's hateful and bigoted PSEUDO-Christians. They are well
described by the term, "Religious" Radical Right (with "religious"
in quotes to denote the fact that they really are otherwise, for
the most part... people whose leaders have craftily and purposely
created, generated, and perpetuated a misperception in society
that this dysfunctional faction of sociopaths somehow *represents*
Christians. They cloak themselves in that which is becoming the
rapidly-shrinking (thanks to them) mantle of respectability that
Christianity affords them.
The RRR Cult is a **trans-denominational** cult -- unlike ANY
other cult that has ever existed! -- which has infiltrated and
infested denominations, congregations, and one of our two
primary political parties (Republican) from WITHIN... and then
*left* their infiltrators in place, to poison those organizations
*from within*!
Those sociopaths give Christianity a bad name, and should
*never* be confused with actual Christians.
Because the vast majority of those who meet the criteria for
being regarded as the cult's lemmings are NOT Christians at all,
and the relatively few actual Christians who *have* fallen for
the cult leaders' party line tend almost exclusively to be folks
who were unfortunate enough to have been born with very
low IQs, and thus were susceptible (gullible) to accepting the
lies of the cult's leadership.
The RRR Cult has no formal name, but had its origins in a
group that did, and now is comprised of people who follow and
rigidly adhere to the tenets of that original group: The so-called
"Moral Majority," instigated in the mid-1970s by a person who
still is one of the oligarchical leaders of the RRR: Jerry Falwell.
The "Moral Majority" never was moral... or a majority... or
Christian.
One example: The PRIMARY criterion for inclusion on its OWN
part, in the RRR, is one's stance regarding abortion. To BE an
RRR Cultist, and thus have acceptance by the group -- and indeed,
even to be *regarded* as a Christian by that faction... a person
needs to be SO hateful, SO sociopathic, and SO UN-Christian as
to support their key agenda: to do all in their power to ultimately
FORCE all women to gestate unwanted pregnancies to term,
against their will. That's a 9-month-long form of RAPE.
And is as UN-Christian as it GETS.
So -- READERS -- as you read the remainder of the other-
wise excellent previous post, please remember that the people
described therein aren't even **remotely** Christians. They
are the leaders and lemmings of the RRR Cult.
It is very important that the two groups NEVER be confused
with each other. There's an infinitely-wide abyss separating
them.
Adherence to the RRR Cult's motives and agendas may very
WELL be a manifestation of mental illness for many of those
pathetic bigots. In line with what you went on to say, below ---
The following websites outline this very well.
http://www.uchc.edu/ocomm/features/stories/stories04/feature_religiosity.html
http://www.sullivan-county.com/nf0/y2k/illness.htm
http://www.truthbeknown.com/mental.htm
Below is an extract from the following website about September 11.
This is a serious website run by serious preachers. They call them-
selves warriors of God.
http://www.godhatesfags.com/main/faq.html
Fred Phelps and his son Tim who are some of the individuals behind
the site are Calvinist type predestinationists. They claim that God
created certain people (most) for the express purpose of burning in hell.
FAQ no.3: Why do you say "Thank God For September 11?"
For several reasons. First, God ordained and decreed these acts. He
determined in eternity to hurl those airplanes like fiery darts out of the
sky. He used the evil followers of Osama bin Laden to punish even more
evil people, just as He used the evil, blood-thirsty Babylonian King
Nebuchadnezzar, His servant, to punish wicked Judah (Jeremiah 25:9).
As the sovereign Creator, His acts by definition are perfect and all humans
are duty bound to be grateful for all that He does. "Shall there be evil in a
city, and the Lord hath not done it?" Amos 3:6. You are supremely arrogant
and evil if you don't believe that your Creator was responsible for
September 11. Second, this nation is awash in arrogant disobedience to God.
By all that is just, God is fully entitled to utterly destroy the nation
immediately. The fact that instead He gave us a fair warning on September 11
is something that those who fear and obey God as all mankind is bound to do
are thankful for this warning. Thank God that we were not all killed on
September 11, as we deserve nothing less. Of course, the perverse people of
this evil nation are not getting the hint, and instead of repenting in
sackcloth and ashes, they continue to spit in God's face. Third, the saints
of God watch for the return of Christ. The worse this world becomes in its
institutionalized iniquity, the greater the hope that the return of Christ
is nigh. September 11 was comforting evidence to the saints of God that
every word of the Scripture is true and that our hope is a good one. "For
the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and
unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Because that
which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed [it] unto
them." Romans 1:18-19. "And I gave her space to repent of her fornication;
and she repented not." Revelation 2:21. Furthermore, it validates what
Westboro Baptist Church has been preaching since 1991: This nation (and
world) has crossed the line. It's too late to repent. God will send
adumbrations of the Great Assize (September 11 was child's play compared to
what is coming), and the vile people of this world will ignore the warnings.
That's what the Bible says will happen. That's what WBC has preached will
happen. And that's what is happening.
http://www.godhatesfags.com/main/faq.html
Then there are the fruitloops in these newsgroups like "His Elect" who's
"EVERY" *SENTENCE* "READS" *LIKE* "THIS".
And there are many others, the latest of which is "God's Chosen Prophet",
who has totally lost it.
There are Christians who are so sick they even burn, kill or mutilate their
children to save them from Satan, as portrayed in the first link at the top.
Yep, we are in a world of total wackos.
And PLEASE remember that those wackoes are NOT Christians, in
almost all cases. They are precisely what I discussed above, instead.
Be FAIR to *actual* Christians. Don't paint them with the undeser-
ved brush of hate and bigotry that the RRR Cult has earned for itself.
-- Craig Chilton <xanadu222_@mchsi.com>
---
RRR Cult lemmings.
Dumber than dirt. America's own version of the Taliban.
Selfishly, hatefully, and mindlessly supporting sociopathic
agendas that seek to destroy vital personal liberties of
millions of people. (That's as dumb as it GETS!!!)
And constantly proving that to everyone.

So then what exactly qualifies one to be called a true Christian?
The belief and following of Jesus?
More?
Less?
Fred Phelps and others like them follow Jesus too, in some ways probably
more than many other Christians.
Is there really such a thing as a true Christian?
Much of what Jesus teaches is little more than just secular humanism any
way, and is actually quite opposite to many of the other wacky things that
the Bible commands.
Being a good Christian requires that one turns a blind eye to the many
barbaric, divisive and generally anti-human edicts in the Bible.
The question then is, can one who only believes and practices parts of the
Bible still be considered a full Christian?
Also many of those so called good Christian you mentioned will just
sheepishly condone or even support a cultist government or religious
leader's draconian religious policies just because they believe that it must
be God's will, so they're not so good either.
I know, because I have parents that are like that. Otherwise they're great
people, and great Christians also.
The problem is they give their power away to people and doctrines which they
shouldn't be trusting just because they sound pious.
That is a serious character flaw. It shows not only a lack of character, but
lack of individuality and confidence in ones own sense of self worth and
decision making abilities.
It probably more than anything shows a lack of education in true personal
values, character and integrity.
So then what exactly is a good/full/true Christian?

Surely you **jest**! Phelps and his ilk are the quintessential
ANTITHESIS of those who live as Christ directed us to do, and as
He set examples for us to do.
He ORDERED us to show love and compassion to our neighbors,
and one of many of the best examples of that which he set for us
was the incident of the woman at the well.
Phelps would have been one of the asswipes who gleefully would
have stoned her, instead!
Is there really such a thing as a true Christian?
The Bible makes it quite clear in several places that to be one, a
person needs to ask Christian into his/her life as Lord and Savior, *and*
to repent of one's sins. That doesn't mean that the person's life
will be prefect, by any means, since that's impossible to accomplish.
But truly born-again Christians mae a concerted effort to strive to be
as much like Christ as they can, and follow His directives.
And one of Jesus' PRIMARY directives is for us to show love and
compassion to our neighbors.
Phelps does the diametric OPPOSITE.
He's a HUGE embarrassment to Christians, since many in society
are actually gullible and stupid enough to think that he represents
Christians, in his loathsome, hateful, and bigoted actions. Satan
couldn't possibly have a better friend than Phelps!
Much of what Jesus teaches is little more than just secular
humanism anyway, and is actually quite opposite to many of the
other wacky things that the Bible commands.
Know what most of that which RRR Cultists call "secular humanism"
in a pejorative way really is? It's COMMON SENSE, plain and simple!
So *of course* there are close parallels between that, and the way
Jesus lived and taught. It would be very surprising if it were otherwise.
Thus, we see just one more way in which RRR Cultists make total
fools of themselves.
Most of the TRULY wacky things that the Bible commands are
rules set forth primarily in Leviticus. Designed to help people during
humanity's childhood to survive well before they matured to the point
where they could safely "cross the street" unsupervised. The majority
of those are found in the Old Testament, particularly in Leviticus, and
no longer are applicable. Jesus specifically did away with several, in
so many words. E.g., His dispensing with "unclean" foods.
Being a good Christian requires that one turns a blind eye to the
many barbaric, divisive and generally anti-human edicts in the Bible.
Nope. See above.
The question then is, can one who only believes and practices
parts of the Bible still be considered a full Christian?
Sure! Again, see above.
Also many of those so called good Christians you mentioned will just
sheepishly condone or even support a cultist government or religious
leader's draconian religious policies just because they believe that it must
be God's will, so they're not so good either.
It sounds like you're describing the Bush Administration. Which again
is one of the best things Satan has going for him. Bush is the worst
mass-murderer the world has seen since Pol Pot... and tens of millions
of Americans (mostly its Republicans) still remain too deceived by him to
have figured that out yet. One very GOOD sign, though -- 2/3 of
Americans now oppose our uncalled-for invasion of Iraq, and our contin-
ued occupation of it. And it used to be the other way around. People
ARE finally waking up!
I know, because I have parents that are like that. Otherwise they're
great people, and great Christians also.
The problem is they give their power away to people and doctrines
which they shouldn't be trusting just because they sound pious.
Our lemmings of the RRR Cult do that all the time. But they're
probably far more deceived than your parents.
That is a serious character flaw. It shows not only a lack of character,
but a lack of individuality and confidence in ones own sense of self worth
and decision making abilities.
Traits of which the average adherents of the RRR Cult's agendas are
DEVOID.
It probably more than anything shows a lack of education in true
personal values, character and integrity.
That -- but far MORE so, a calculated deception of ignorant people
by crafty leaders who target them. Leaders who know that HALF of
any random population's IQ is under 100. The tens of millions under
85 are gullible fair game! They know *that*, too!
So then what exactly is a good/full/true Christian?
Again -- see above. And see sig, below, for more detail.

Yup...
Suggest perhaps, that we ask God, INSTEAD, to forgive
the HATEFUL people who seek for impose immense hardship
upon tens of millions of women by FORCING childbirth upon
them, against their will.
And to think these same hateful control freaks to even endorse
a god and then profess to speak for this god is utterly sickening!
Which is why I think I'm being very fair and accurate when I refer
to such people as "PSEUDO-Christians." Jesus' PRIME Directive was
a COMMAND to His followers to show love and compassion to their
neighbors.
Which makes sense!
No one in history was ever MORE sensible. Or compassionate.
... Which the Anti-Choicers purporting to be Christions either
PURPOSELY ignore, or are totally IGNORANT of, in their pursuit of a
hateful agenda that would TRASH all those millions of their neighbors.
It is deliberate attempt to destroy the religion and the spirits of those
who are avid and true followers of the faith. How unfortuante.
For sure. By guising themselves as "Christians," the PSEUDO-
Christian cultists of the Religious Radical Right (in which MOST of
the Anti-Choicers are found), they lyingly cloak themselves in that
mantle of respectability. Unfortunately, that has COST Christianity
its respectability in the eyes of the tens of millions of Americans
who have not been discerning enough to recognize that the RRR
Cult in NO WAY is the *least bit* representative of Christianity.
Christianity is FAIR-minded.
The RRR Cult is NARROW-minded.
Christianity is CONSIDERATE.
The RRR Cult is control-freakish.
Christianity follows what the Bible SAYS.
The RRR Cult cooks up its own false doctrine, and
IGNORES everything in the Bible that conflicts with it.
The Bible says NOTHING about (or against) abortion.
The RRR cultists pretend that it does.
Jesus' Prime Directive: Love and have compassion for neighbors.
The RRR cult seeks to TRASH millions of women.
The Bible appointed NO Enforcers of its precepts upon society.
The RRR cult acts as though it appointed THEM to be.
And to add insult to *that* injury, they THEN seek to
IMPOSE their false dogmas (such as opposition to
abortion) upon society AS THOUGH they were biblical.
The Bible warns of "False Teachers" that will come in our day.
The leaders of the RRR cult FIT the criteria for that
PERFECTLY. And *most* people don't even recognize
them for what they are. (Which is logical; what false
teacher worth his salt would *identify* himself as such?
To the contrary, they all would CON as many people as
possible into believing that they're Jesus' gift to our
generation.)
GENUINE Christians and the RRR cultists, who PURPORT to be
Christians, are as different as day and night.
The Bible says that "by their fruits" people shall be known.
The fruits of GENUINE Christians are kindness, fair-mindedness,
consideration, charity, and honesty.
The fruits of the RRR cultists are repression, deception, and
hatefulness.
As an ENORMOUS service BOTH to Jesus AND to His two billion
followers, worldwide, it is necessary to EDUCATE society about this
massive and hateful deception on the part of the cultists.
These cultists are found primarily within the USA, and to a lesser
degree, Canada. In America, if they are *regarded* as Christians,
they comprise only a mere 1% of them. Of the remaining 99%,
most are *genuine* Christians -- although a few million of those are
passive sympathizers with the cultists. Probably because they don't
realize how wrong the RRR cult is, and have fallen for much of their
disinformation. The RRR Cult's leaders are masters of psychological
deception. (And ONE of those, James Dobson, even is *introduced*
in his daily "Focus on the Family" show on Christian radio as a
"psychologist." HE's not even a clergyman.)
All in the supposed "defense" of entities that are the SAME as
sperm and ova -- which they DON'T defend -- in all important ways:
human, unique, a stage of development *without* which there would
be NO births, NON-sentient, and alive.
It seems that it is easier to defend an imaginery person then to actually
go out of their way to defend an actual person. This would require that
they use their personal resources and time, which is something they are
unwilling to give, but expect everyone else to do so.
They are the epitome of selfishness and irrationality.
Even though the Bible covers WELL just about every "moral" issue
people could imagine -- all the way down to fortune-telling (!!), it
never MENTIONS abortion... NEVER *defends* human entities that
have not been born... directs ALL of the defense of human life that it
DOES contain, at people who have been BORN... and ascribes
TREMENDOUS importance to BIRTH order.
Leaving the Anti-Choice pseudo-Christians WITHOUT excuse.
But they still seem to find the excuses! I have to say, at least they are
creative.
They "need" to be. Since not one single FACT supports their hateful
and mindless agenda. So they rant, rave, whine, play on the emotions of
the gullible, equivocate, employ semantic word-games, lie, and propagan-
dize. And after a person wades through all of that in search for *any*
FACTS that they may have brought to bear in the midst of it -- he/she finds
that NO supporting facts have been presented.
So -- we are dealing with people who are USUALLY hypocritical,
USUALLY bone-ignorant, and ALWAYS hateful and mindless.
And then they WONDER why they are America's laughingstock.
LOL.

of those are found in the Old Testament, particularly in Leviticus, and
no longer are applicable. Jesus specifically did away with several, in
so many words. E.g., His dispensing with "unclean" foods.
Agreed.
Pity so many good Christians don't know this.
Goes to show what a poor educator the Christian god is.
His idea of education consists of plonking a book onto the ground in one
part of the world and saying -
Here, read this all you's, but never mind if you can't understand it because
it was written in a language that has words that you don't have in your
modern language, and don't worry about the missing context etc, you're only
going to go to hell if you don't understand it. No biggie.
Being a good Christian requires that one turns a blind eye to the
many barbaric, divisive and generally anti-human edicts in the Bible.
Nope. See above.
The question then is, can one who only believes and practices
parts of the Bible still be considered a full Christian?
Sure! Again, see above.
Again, pity there are so few people in the world who actually know how to
use the Bible properly.
If a school principle were to run a school in such a sloppy manner as the
Christian god runs this world, he'd be sacked within six months.
Also many of those so called good Christians you mentioned will just
sheepishly condone or even support a cultist government or religious
leader's draconian religious policies just because they believe that it
must
be God's will, so they're not so good either.
Those 2/3(?) Americans are the equivalent of the many atheists and agnostics
that are now standing up and opposing Christianity.
It shows not only a lack of
character,
but a lack of individuality and confidence in ones own sense of self
worth
and decision making abilities.

It is deliberate attempt to destroy the religion and the spirits of
those
who are avid and true followers of the faith. How unfortuante.
For sure. By guising themselves as "Christians," the PSEUDO-
Christian cultists of the Religious Radical Right (in which MOST of
the Anti-Choicers are found), they lyingly cloak themselves in that
mantle of respectability. Unfortunately, that has COST Christianity
its respectability in the eyes of the tens of millions of Americans
who have not been discerning enough to recognize that the RRR
Cult in NO WAY is the *least bit* representative of Christianity.
Christianity is FAIR-minded.
Christianity is selective and narrow. Ever heard of the narrow or strait
gate?
The RRR Cult is NARROW-minded.
Christianity is CONSIDERATE.
Its not very considerate towards the innocent women and children that die in
floods and plagues.
The RRR Cult is control-freakish.
Christianity follows what the Bible SAYS.
Christianity *is* control-freakish. Ever heard of 'God's will'?
If Christians were honest then they would admit for a start that they have
no idea what God is.
It seems that it is easier to defend an imaginery person then to
actually
go out of their way to defend an actual person.
I have to say, at least
they are
creative.
They "need" to be. Since not one single FACT supports their hateful
and mindless agenda. So they rant, rave, whine, play on the emotions of
the gullible, equivocate, employ semantic word-games, lie, and propagan-
dize. And after a person wades through all of that in search for *any*
FACTS that they may have brought to bear in the midst of it -- he/she
finds
that NO supporting facts have been presented.
So -- we are dealing with people who are USUALLY hypocritical,
USUALLY bone-ignorant, and ALWAYS hateful and mindless.
And then they WONDER why they are America's laughingstock.
LOL.

so many words. E.g., His dispensing with "unclean" foods.
Being a good Christian requires that one turns a blind eye to the many
barbaric, divisive and generally anti-human edicts in the Bible.
Nope. See above.
The question then is, can one who only believes and practices parts
of the Bible still be considered a full Christian?
Sure! Again, see above.
Also many of those so called good Christians you mentioned will just
sheepishly condone or even support a cultist government or religious
leader's draconian religious policies just because they believe that it
must be God's will, so they're not so good either.
It sounds like you're describing the Bush Administration. Which again
is one of the best things Satan has going for him. Bush is the worst
mass-murderer the world has seen since Pol Pot... and tens of millions of
Americans (mostly its Republicans) still remain too deceived by him to
have figured that out yet.
It shows not only a lack of
character, but a lack of individuality and confidence in ones own sense
of self worth and decision making abilities.
Traits of which the average adherents of the RRR Cult's agendas are
DEVOID.
It probably more than anything shows a lack of education in true
personal values, character and integrity.
That -- but far MORE so, a calculated deception of ignorant people
by crafty leaders who target them. Leaders who know that HALF of any
random population's IQ is under 100. The tens of millions under 85 are
gullible fair game! They know *that*, too!
So then what exactly is a good/full/true Christian?
Again -- see above. And see sig, below, for more detail.

And to think these same hateful control freaks to even endorse a god
and then profess to speak for this god is utterly sickening!
It is deliberate attempt to destroy the religion and the spirits of
those
who are avid and true followers of the faith. How unfortuante.
For sure. By guising themselves as "Christians," the PSEUDO-
Christian cultists of the Religious Radical Right (in which MOST of the
Anti-Choicers are found), they lyingly cloak themselves in that mantle of
respectability. Unfortunately, that has COST Christianity its
respectability in the eyes of the tens of millions of Americans who have
not been discerning enough to recognize that the RRR Cult in NO WAY is
the *least bit* representative of Christianity.
Christianity is FAIR-minded.
The RRR Cult is NARROW-minded.
Christianity is CONSIDERATE.
The RRR Cult is control-freakish.
Christianity follows what the Bible SAYS.
The RRR Cult cooks up its own false doctrine, and IGNORES
everything in the Bible that conflicts with it.
The Bible says NOTHING about (or against) abortion.
The RRR cultists pretend that it does.
Jesus' Prime Directive: Love and have compassion for neighbors. The
RRR cult seeks to TRASH millions of women.
The Bible appointed NO Enforcers of its precepts upon society.
The RRR cult acts as though it appointed THEM to be.
And to add insult to *that* injury, they THEN seek to IMPOSE
their false dogmas (such as opposition to abortion) upon society AS
THOUGH they were biblical.
The Bible warns of "False Teachers" that will come in our day.
The leaders of the RRR cult FIT the criteria for that
PERFECTLY. And *most* people don't even recognize them for
what they are. (Which is logical; what false teacher worth his salt
would *identify* himself as such? To the contrary, they all would CON as
many people as possible into believing that they're Jesus' gift to our
generation.)
GENUINE Christians and the RRR cultists, who PURPORT to be Christians,
are as different as day and night.
The Bible says that "by their fruits" people shall be known.
The fruits of GENUINE Christians are kindness, fair-mindedness,
consideration, charity, and honesty.
The fruits of the RRR cultists are repression, deception, and
hatefulness.
As an ENORMOUS service BOTH to Jesus AND to His two billion followers,
worldwide, it is necessary to EDUCATE society about this massive and
hateful deception on the part of the cultists.
These cultists are found primarily within the USA, and to a lesser
degree, Canada. In America, if they are *regarded* as Christians, they
comprise only a mere 1% of them. Of the remaining 99%, most are
*genuine* Christians -- although a few million of those are
passive sympathizers with the cultists. Probably because they don't
realize how wrong the RRR cult is, and have fallen for much of their
disinformation. The RRR Cult's leaders are masters of psychological
deception. (And ONE of those, James Dobson, even is *introduced* in his
daily "Focus on the Family" show on Christian radio as a
"psychologist." HE's not even a clergyman.)
All in the supposed "defense" of entities that are the SAME as
sperm and ova -- which they DON'T defend -- in all important ways:
human, unique, a stage of development *without* which there would
be NO births, NON-sentient, and alive.
It seems that it is easier to defend an imaginery person then to
actually go out of their way to defend an actual person. This would
require that they use their personal resources and time, which is
something they are unwilling to give, but expect everyone else to do so.
Oh look... you ask one simple question that which can be answered in one
sentence, and you get a 400 line rant whose only purpose is to stroke
Craig's ego.
Not to mention calling himself a Christian when he would indeed be one of
the biggest jokes of Christianity ever.

So -- READERS -- as you read the remainder of the other-
wise excellent previous post, please remember that the people
described therein aren't even **remotely** Christians. They
are the leaders and lemmings of the RRR Cult.
Fred Phelps and his son are very much Christians. You can't
get much more Christian than that. Check them out when you
get a chance.
LOL!!!!
You forgot to include the <sarcasm> and </sarcasm>
notations around the above. But I know that's what you meant.
So then what exactly qualifies one to be called a true Christian?
The belief and following of Jesus? More? Less? Fred Phelps and others
like them follow Jesus too, in some ways probably more than many other
Christians.
Surely you **jest**! Phelps and his ilk are the quintessential
ANTITHESIS of those who live as Christ directed us to do, and as He set
examples for us to do. He ORDERED us to show love and compassion to
our neighbors, and one of many of the best examples of that which he
set for us was the incident of the woman at the well.
That doesn't mean that the person's life will
be prefect, by any means, since that's impossible to accomplish.
Much of what Jesus teaches is little more than just secular humanism
anyway, and is actually quite opposite to many of the other wacky things
that the Bible commands.
Know what most of that which RRR Cultists call "secular humanism"
in a pejorative way really is? It's COMMON SENSE, plain and simple!
So *of course* there are close parallels between that, and the way
Jesus lived and taught. It would be very surprising if it were
otherwise.
Thus, we see just one more way in which RRR Cultists make total
fools of themselves.
Most of the TRULY wacky things that the Bible commands are rules set
forth primarily in Leviticus.
Being a good Christian requires that one turns a blind eye to the many
