Doubtful.
not to let our kids watch too much television and we
monitor what they do watch.
They watch it all of time. It's your replacement babysitter when
you're too busy lying about things in the newsgroups.
However, there are some shows they do
like, even I enjoy watching them with them.
Instead of reading to them.
Yesterday, my son came in and wanted to watch Nickelodian. He turned
on the channel
Possibly when you were on the computer.
Perhaps you and your wife should have pulled out the boardgames and
playing them outside on the patio?
and he saw a banner and a text message from
Nickelodian. They shut down their channel for a few hours. Why?
They did what parents should have known what to do, in the first
place, without its assistance. I'd say you should feel very
embarassed.
Because they are trying to promote children getting up and going
outside and playing. I couldn't believe it,
Yeah - what a concept.
my wife and I both
thought this was GREAT. A network that is encouraging kids to get up
and go play.
When the parents should be doing it!!!!!!!!
I remember as a kid myself, we went outside..played. I was fishing a
lot as a kid, I loved going to a pond that was about 2 miles from my
house and I remember spending hours just fishing.
Save your money and cancel the cable subscription. Use the money for
the petrol to take them on nature walks, a safari park (if one is by
you)library events, cultural events - things that will broaden their
minds.
As a parent, who loves his children more than anything else on this
earth, I try really hard to encourage my kids to get out of the house
and play. I try to let my kids do things with me, like when I go on
my run I let my 10 year old run with me. I usually will go 3 to 4
miles and he can keep up with me. We have a 2 year old, the other day
the whole family went out and we put him in his stroller. I got behind
the stroller and I pushed while I ran, he loved it..he laughed so
hard.
I hope other networks will take the lead now and promote children from
getting out. There is nothing wrong with kids watching television,
for limited time...but kids have got to be able to excercise.
It's the parents' or guardians responsibility to ensure that their
children excersise and eat properly.
Great job Nickelodian!!!
Is this your way of saving face in the light of your humiliation after
the countless times I bashed you for your excessive television viewing
and constant neglect of your children's intellectual and emotional
well-being?
And by the way, stupid - from what I understand - it's spelt
"Nickelodeon." (Do you even know what an actual nickelodeon is, by the
way?)
