Barnes and George should read this |
Barnes and George are known in this newsgroup for their blatent
disrespect towards Correctional Officers, as they use the term "guard"
as a means to insult. I have a list of insults by Barnes towards
Correctional Officers, of course he will deny it and say they were
directed at me. I shall provide quotes later, after he starts to deny
this and start his rhetoric.
A Correctional Officer was shot, in the line of duty 1/26/06. Maybe
Barnes and George can go to this mans family and say, "he was just a
guard".
Meanwhile the rest of us are praying for his family, hoping he can
recover, and glad the inmate was caught

HAGERSTOWN // A prison inmate being treated at Washington County
Hospital overpowered the correctional officer who was guarding him
early Thursday, grabbed his gun and shot him in the face before sending
police on a several-mile chase in a hijacked taxi cab.
The correctional officer, a 44-year-old father of four, was in critical
condition in intensive care awaiting surgery at the hospital Thursday.
Co-workers identified him as Jeff Wroten of Martinsburg, W.Va.

They hold such hatred towards others, it's sickening. Which is why I
posted the article. I realize most probably are not interested in what
happened to this correctional officer. I am, because this is my field
and I have done hospital duty. I am fully aware of the risk that
exist, and what happened to him is unfortunate; however it is a risk
that we take. He didn't do anything wrong; however, Maryland should
never have allowed one single correctional officer to escort this
inmate. I know in Delaware we always go in pairs and only one is
armed. The inmate is not aware of who is armed.
The reason I posted this was to show the utter sickness and hatred
Barnes and George hold. Barnes, stupid as he is, fell right into it.
I don't know if George will, he is on my killfile. I am sure that he
will, he is just as stupid.
To answer your question, yes that's exactly what they would say and
they would relish if one was injured or killed.

You posted the artile because you hoped to affiliate yourself with a
guard who waqs injured on the job. That is the kind of person you are.
I realize most probably are not interested in what
happened to this correctional officer. I am, because this is my field
and I have done hospital duty. I am fully aware of the risk that
exist, and what happened to him is unfortunate; however it is a risk
that we take.
Except that Barnes proved the job isn't really that dangerous.
He didn't do anything wrong; however, Maryland should
never have allowed one single correctional officer to escort this
inmate.
So he did something wrong, going it alone.
I know in Delaware we always go in pairs and only one is
armed. The inmate is not aware of who is armed.

Osprey likes the easier questions. That is how brave he is.
I am sure that he
will, he is just as stupid.
The only one who fell into anything appears to be you. You are the one
who tried to gain some crdability at the expense of an injured guard.
To answer your question, yes that's exactly what they would say and

Except the only one who seems to be making hay from this is you.

You were going to tell us your "opinion" about it being illegal for
women to get an abortion after the first trimester, remember?
Somewhere along the line you read something from some Right Wing kook
and now you accept that as truth.
You, the guard, seemed to believe you know the law so well that you had

CONGRESSIONAL CORRECTIONAL OFFICERS CAUCUS PAYS TRIBUTE TO AMERICA'S
CORRECTIONAL OFFICERS
WASHINGTON - In recognition of Correctional Officers and Employees
Week today the Co-Chairs of the Congressional Officers Caucus paid
tribute to our nations's dedicated correctional officers.
"So often, it seems that we only hear about the services that
corrections officers provide when something goes wrong at a jail or a
prison," Strickland said. "That is why it is important that we dedicate
this week each year to celebrate and thank the officers who, day in and
day out, perform their jobs with honor, duty and pride."
"Correctional personnel work under demanding circumstances and face
danger in their daily work lives," said Strickland. "This valued group
is responsible for the care, custody and dignity of the human beings
charged to their care. They deserve credit for the work that they do,
and America should thank them for the service they provide."
Representatives Tim Holden, Stephen Horn, Ted Strickland and John
Sweeney joined together to recognize the vital role correctional
personnel play in protecting the rights of the public to be safeguarded
from criminal activity.
Representative Sweeney stated,"It's very important that the men and
women working the front lines of correctional institutions receive our
full support. They're performing a very important role in the public
safety arena, and it's important we recognize their contribution."
The Congressional Correctional Officers Caucus was founded by
Representative Strickland to address the unique issues affecting the
correctional officer community. The Caucus is committed to providing
assistance to federal, state and local corrections agencies and
officers through its leadership on Capitol Hill. The primary purpose of
the Caucus is to influence and promote relevant policies, practices and
operations that are of interest and concern to correctional officers
and their families nationwide.
Representative Holden noted that the officers, "are charged with
dealing with a dangerous prison population and frequently work under
extremely stressful conditions. Officers face the daily threat of
assaults, which have been increasing at an alarming rate in recent
years."
In 1996, Americans spent $25 billion on prisons and employed 413,000
workers. In 1995, there were 14,165 assaults on correctional staff by
inmates. Since 1980, our incarceration rate has jumped from 137 per
100,000 citizens to 476 per 100,000 citizens in 2001.
"Correctional officers play a valuable role in our society," said
Representative Horn. "These officers are responsible for guarding more
than 2 million inmates throughout the United States. But more
importantly they are responsible for safeguarding all Americans against
the fear of harm and violence."

Co-workers identified him as Jeff Wroten of Martinsburg, W.Va.
....
Well, DUH!!! Who in their right fucking mind arms a correctional
officer with a gun while he is among the inmates???
Talk about UTTER and COMPLETE stupidity...
Then you can complain to every single state who operates that way.
Correctional Officers are always armed anytime they are outside of the
institution with an inmate. Court, hospital, transportation, ect...
The main problem here is their procedures were not safe for the officer
and/or the public. I talked with a correctional officer today in
Maryland. There policy will change now, which I don't understand why
it was like this to beign with. You always have two officers escort,
never one. I can't go into specifics on how the escort procedure
operates due to security reasons; but I can say that their SOP's will
change now and two officers will escort at all times. The officer was
only following orders, he did what he was told to do. The admin and
state will have to answer to this one.
Learn something before you speak about it. It would help you a great
deal.

Barnes and George are known in this newsgroup for their blatent
disrespect towards Correctional Officers, as they use the term "guard"

Correctional Officers, of course he will deny it and say they were
directed at me. I shall provide quotes later, after he starts to deny
this and start his rhetoric.
A Correctional Officer was shot, in the line of duty 1/26/06. Maybe
Barnes and George can go to this mans family and say, "he was just a
guard".

Osprey figures that if a lot of people are screwing up it isn't really
a screw up.

Big deal. So are the guards at K-Mart. (And they are armed while on
the job.)
The main problem here is their procedures were not safe for the officer
and/or the public.
Osprey knows better than the State of Maryland. They probably don't
trust you assholes with a gun.
