CBO projects record $477 billion deficit under Bush mismanagement
http://www.cnn.com/2004/US/01/26/budget.deficits.ap/index.html
WASHINGTON (AP) -- The federal deficit will hit a record $477 billion
this year and get worse if lawmakers cut taxes or increase spending,
the Congressional Budget Office projected Monday in a report sure to
become ammunition in the election-year fight over red ink.

Anyone here seriously think capping nondefense discretionary spending
will have any effect on the size of the deficit? The back-breakings
increase over the past year have largely come out of the defense
budget and nondiscretionary outlays. President Bush has an
opportunity to really get a hold on federal spending by pushing real
reform for Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security in his second term;
I wouldn't be surprised if the Administration saw the 2014 crisis as a
motivator to keep the Democrats from blocking efforts to privatize the
big entitlements.

Hmm,
so the ones that push it through congress and the senate, have absolutely no
responsibility what so ever.
This is one reason I do hope in a way that Bush loses the election. Because
if the Democrats win back the White House, I will watch as they get pounded
over every single fault they have, and watch the excuses fly from people
like Elmo, David, Adam, Ray, and the other leftist.
And of course, continue to keep the quotes, such as the one Elmo has used
above...just so they know...it will be the presidents fault..and they should
live by their own words..:o)
I am glad nuts like Elmo say things like he did above.

Well first of all David Barnes has said many times that Bush was going to
crash the economy, that we would be in a nuclear war, gas prices would be up
to 4 dollars a gallon.
None of those predictions came true.
Other liberals, who are not in here, have said Bush would case the stock
market to crash
That isn't happening either.
Since you have no rebuttal or explanation for the stock market recovery, I
guess you just have to figure it out.
