I first found out about it last night from Barnes, at about 11 PM
Central. At a time when most people did NOT know about it. I just did
not see any reason to comment on it, since there was nothing much to
say yet that people did not already know.
When did you find out that Renquist had died?

Inform people? There is nothing wrong with that. Besides, he states
that he is a lawyer, so naturally he would be interested in the status
of the Supreme Court and the Chief Justice, since they could greatly
affect how he does his job, and how well he can do his job.

Well, you have to know Barne's history. He claims to have been a police
officer, military officer, lawyer, and even a teacher.
Yet...get this.
As a police officer he claims that anytime a police officer has to pull out
his or her firearm, they have lost control of the situation.
As a military officer who also claims to have been a pilot, he didn't know
where OTS was located (Officer Training School). And as a pilot, he didn't
know some basics...like what is a APU, what is a MEGP, what is MADAR
As far as being a lawyer, do you know many lawyers that sit in newsgroups
behaving like Barnes?
As far as his claim on being a teacher in Criminal Justice, I asked him
several BASIC questions on Criminal Justice and he didn't know the answer to
any of them.
1) What are the four functions of a prison
2) What are the four roles of a Correctional Officer
3) What is the difference between a jail and a prison
4) Why doesn't Delaware have any jails
5) What are the three parts of the Criminal Justice system and how do they
work
6) What is the Panopticon? Who designed it? What was it's purpose? Is it's
concept still used today? Where and why?
Those are basics that any Criminal Justice student in his or her first year
would know.
He didn't.

Oh, brother. If that is the crap they teach you at Wilmington, you
need to get a refund.
Those are basics that any Criminal Justice student in his or her first year

Yeah - Why Delaware doesn't have any jails is REAL important to CJ
students across the nation.
He didn't.
Wrong - but if it help you convince yourself you aren't a loser, I

And, as a lawyer, I assumed people would be interested. I guess guards
don't get the importance.
I found CJ Rehnquist to be a genuinely nice and thoughtful man. He was
extremely intelligent and a true historian. It is always sad to see
someone as well respected, well educated and well informed as he was
pass away. I liked him very much, personally. However, I could hardly
disagree more with his legal philosophy.
And he was funny. He once told this joke at a conference I was at. It
went something like this:
"I used to start off my lectures with a lawyer joke, but I have learned
to refrain from doing so because those in the audience who are lawyers
don't think they are funny, and those who are not lawyers don't think
they are a joke."
(Actually, no one likes lawyer jokes more than lawyers. We take a kind
of sick pride in them.)

I find it interesting that Bush has chosen to nominate Roberts for
Rehnquist's chair. O'Connor has stated that she'll retire when her
successor has been confirmed, so technically, she's still on the bench
for the next session.
I figured that if Bush was that interested in tilting the court, he
would have appointed someone else for Rehnquist's position and tried to
get Roberts in O'Connor's seat, pushing her out.
Now he has to come up with a new replacement for O'Connor, which almost
has to be a moderate in order to get through the Senate.
I don't know. Seems like odd "strategery" on Bush's part.

i think bush will do the opposite: i expect his handlers to have him
nominate a crazed right-wing neocon with little or no hope of being
confirmed. when the ugly confirmation hearings finally end and the crazed
neocon is rejected, bush's handlers will move the roberts hearings and
everyone will be so emotionally drained from the ugly battle that just
ended that robers will fly through confirmation hearings as will whomever
bush's handlers select for the other opening.

I figured that if Bush was that interested in tilting the court,
he
would have appointed someone else for Rehnquist's position and
tried
to get Roberts in O'Connor's seat, pushing her out.
Now he has to come up with a new replacement for O'Connor, which
almost has to be a moderate in order to get through the Senate.
I think Bush will come up with a moderate.
I have a feeling that in the next day or so, someone like keegan is
going to start posting propaganda about Bush and this next
replacement. I give him 2 days.
But on the serious side, I think Bush will nominate someone more
moderate.
i think bush will do the opposite: i expect his handlers to have him
nominate a crazed right-wing neocon with little or no hope of being
confirmed. when the ugly confirmation hearings finally end and the
crazed
neocon is rejected, bush's handlers will move the roberts hearings
and
everyone will be so emotionally drained from the ugly battle that
just
ended that robers will fly through confirmation hearings as will
whomever
bush's handlers select for the other opening.
Bush is very weak right now. People are beginning to realize what a
poor President he is. We have a weak economy,
Unemployment at it's lowest in four years
"Four Years" Who was President four years ago? And unemployment is
quite high. Further, with gas prices going through the roof, the price
of everything is going up.
You don't read do you. I provided you that information a few days ago and
you ignored it.
You lied.
http://money.cnn.com/2005/09/02/news/economy/jobs_august/index.htm
Housing sales through the roof.
So?
So much for your weak economy.
Wrong. Sales (actually, refinances) are up because interest rates were
low because the Republicans were trying to prop up the failing economy.
That chicken is coming home to roost.
Where is this weak economy?
Very.
Nope. The economy is doing fine.
You live in a dream world. After five years of Republicans, we are
still worse off than the previous administration.
It's liberals like you who like to scare
people. It's a tactic you use to try and get people to vote for who you want
them to vote for.
How ironic. That is the Republicans in action. They want people to be
afraid of everything and everyone. To the Republicans, it is Land of
the Wealthy and home of the Cowards.
Too bad we don't have the President Clinton economy back.
Oh yea, and let's experience the dot com again.
We can only pray.
The
stock market, after five years, is still lower than under President
Clinton. Even Greenspan now admits we are in trouble with the
deficits.
gas prices are through
the roof and continuing upward,
Not Bush's fault
*****.
Show your evidence then.
$4.00 per gallon. $1.20 under Clinton.
The Republicans have control of the Senate, the House, the
White House and the Judiciary, and they still cry, "Its not our fault."
Supply and Demand, do you know how it works?
So the Republicans are impotent.
China, becoming the 2nd biggest consumer and on pace to beat the U.S. with
demand on oil.
Stop blaming China, spud. You misread the numbers. Bush said he could
control prices if elected - he apparently did.
and we have recently seen that the
White House doesn't care about the people in New Orleans.
You are falling for that propaganda.
Bush is screwed on that issue. He doesn't give a damn.
Oh give it a break liberal. It's liberals like you who sound so damned
stupid.
I will grant that Bush and other agencies were NOT prepared and there are
some SERIOUS mistakes that were made.
Even though they spent billions to prepare for "terrorism."
But when idiots like you go around screaming such stupid nonsense, I am
going to call you what you are..an IDIOT.
The guard speaks.
Now, if you wish to become a civil person and stop acting like such a fool,
we can talk about the areas where Bush is making mistakes. But if you are
going to go around saying things that is utterly foolish, then remain the
IDIOT you are.
Maybe it is time for you and your fellow Republicans to start taking
responsibility for once.
Further,
people are beginning to realize that what Cheney said during the
campaign, that Bush and his buffoons can protect America against
terrorism better than Kerry, was *****.
American public doesn't agree with that.
Dream on.
You dream on..the people voted for Bush because Kerry was the WORSE choice.
And Kerry did it to himself.
Bush won the presidency with 51% of the vote - his exact approval rate
at the time. Currently, his approval rate is 38%.
While most Americans think
that we need to get out of Iraq,
In other words, they acknowledge that the Democrats were right all
along.
No, if you were not such a bigot on this we could talk about some of the
reasons.
Excuses, you mean. We need only look at history. As Reagan asked,
"Are [we] better off today than you were [five] years ago?"
most will not agree that Kerry could
have handled it better.
Not the point. He clearly would have. Americans would be alive. Bush
has killed more Americans than Bin Laden. (Anyone remember him?)
Yea, and if you knew something about the Al Queda organization you would
realize that getting him alone is not going to solve the problem.
Bush said he had to be caught. Now Bush has forgotten about him.
Obviously you don't understand.
You are nothing but Right Wing excuses.
The whole New Orleans
fiasco was botched from day one,
Having FEMA become a part of Homeland Security was a big mistake
A BUSH mistake. Plus the head on FEMA is incompetent. His ONLY
credentials is that he is a friend of Bush's.
Yes, a Bush mistake. But you got to get over your bigotry if you want
people to stop looking at you like such a fool.
You call everyone a bigot if they are smart enough to realize the
Republicans are willing to sellout America. Wake up!
Bush..Bush..Bush.
I supposed you think Bush caused Huricane Katrina.
I think Bush claimed to have spent Billions to prepare for this kind of
thing.
You sound about as nutty as a caller I heard on a radio station who said
Katrina was caused because of what we did with Terry Schiavo
That sounds like a religious nut.
NUT CASE
Boy, are you desperate.
Rice was whooping it up with Monty
Python the day after the disaster, and had it been another terrorism
attack, the people of this country would be just as screwed as when
terrorists attacked the World Trade Center.
Bush may need to make a concession to the Democrats. Even Republicans
are now distancing themselves from him.
Not hardly.
Look again.
All I can say is, "People of
America, we got what we deserved. Next time, get off your asses and
keep the Republicans from taking control. - This was to be expected."
You keep repeating that, but the American public continues to disagree
with you.
Prove it.
It's been proven idiot.
Wrong - but you keep saying it.
And by the way, in the last five years, Bush has borrowed over one
million dollars in your families name. That is what your share of the
deficit is. How is that going to be repaid?
Cheney's claim that the country is safer under Bush is
clearly untrue. We have been "preparing for a terrorism attack" for
four years. One hurricane and the federal government folds. Still,
you did get that $90 tax cut last year. That is one tank of gas.

Osprey has had his ***** kicked by me so many times he jumps at whet he
sees as me making a mistake.
But as usual, WRONG.
MY cite had the "Unemployment Rate Slumps to 4-Year Low" comment. My
point is the economy is still failing, as that story says.
And saying "Unemployment Rate Slumps to 4-Year Low" is like saying
"Things are getting better in New Orleans after four days." This issue
is, who put us in a position where things have get better in the first
place.
As for your other supposed post, It doesn't appear. But who cares?
You probably just repeated your same mistake.
