CNN Poll Finds Majority Say They're Pro-Life, Abortion Key 2008 Issue

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- A new poll conducted by Opinion
Research Corporation for CNN earlier this month find that a majority
of Americans say they are pro-life when it comes to the issue of
abortion. The survey also shows abortion is a key issue for the 2008
presidential campaign and that pro-life voters are more resolute than
abortion advocates.
When asked to self-identify as "pro-life" or "pro-choice" on the issue
of abortion, 50 percent of Americans call themselves pro-life while
just 45 percent say otherwise.
Another two percent said they didn't know what the terms meant and two
percent more felt they were a combination of the two.
Asked whether certain political issues were important to their vote
for president next year, a majority said abortion was important and
abortion was thought to be more pertinent than stem cell research.
Of the 1,028 adults conducted by telephone on May 4-6, 51 percent said
abortion was important with 27 percent saying it is extremely
important and 24 percent saying it's very important.
Another 24 percent said abortion is moderately important and only 24
percent said abortion is not that important to their vote.
That split was higher than the percentage who said stem cell research
is a pertinent issue with 48 percent saying it is important and only
20 percent saying it's extremely important. A higher 28 percent said
stem cell research was just moderately important.
CNN's poll also indicated that Americans who are pro-life show more
passion and intensity about their views than those who back abrotion
-- translating into more support for pro-life canddiates.
"People who describe themselves as pro-life are twice as likely to say
the issue will be extremely important to them than people who call
themselves pro-choice. Abortion-rights opponents have intensity on
their side," CNN said about the intensity question, which it did not
post in its poll summary information.
The poll also asked Americans about their thoughts on the recent
Supreme Court ruling upholding the federal ban on partial-birth
abortions.
It found that 66 percent think "government should make this procedure
illegal" while just 28 percent favor keeping partial-birth abortions
legal.
That compares favorably to a similar question CNN asked in October
2003 when the split on making partial-birth abortions illegal was
68-25 percent.

What's wrong with someone not changing their position?
Don't get me wrong, I like McCain too. I like Guilliani as well.
But also, I don't mind someone changing their position on an issue
from time to time. It's a sign that they are willing to think their
position over, listen to others, and reflect on their own opinions.
Take a look at Bush...
Do you think he would be in a better position if he had changed his
position on the war and was more cooperative with Democrats on the
time table they want to set?
Or do you think he is a better leader because he simply refuses to
change his position???
Sometimes, changing a position isn't a bad thing.

Guilliani is Pro-CHOICE and for the murdering

He accepts that these babies be murdered,

The only one running for President that has not flip-flopped
on abortion issue is John McCain.http://www.johnmccain.com/Informing/Issues/95b18512-d5b6-456e-90a2-12...
What's wrong with someone not changing their position?
Don't get me wrong, I like McCain too. I like Guilliani as well.
Guilliani is Pro-CHOICE and for the murdering
of babies in the womb and as they are being born.
You're a liar. Like most anti-aboriton lunatics you have been
corrupted by your ideology of hate.
Hmmm, just what is "hatefull" about
not wanting to kill babies in the womb?
It's an outright lie.
Please point out the lie that you are
alluding to in AP's question.
Since you're a hate-addled pro-liar I'll try to make it simple for you.
1) Abortion is not murder and has never been murder.
2) Guiliani has never said anything that would be considered advocacy
of abortion.
Not only are Babies killed/murdered in
You're a liar.
How so? You are so barbaric that you don't
know the willful taking of an innocent human
life is murder?
Except that it isn't, pro-liar moron. A condom causes the deaths of
millions of human lives. It's not murder.
Like most anti-abortion lunatics you have been
corrupted by your ideology of hate.
You have those who are anti-abortion confused
with pro-abortion, feticidal lunatics.
Nope. You haven't yet learned that your insane lies are not truth.

CNN Poll Finds Majority Say They're Pro-Life, Abortion Key 2008 Issue
by Steven Ertelt

The fact of the matter is, you support and defend feticide. You can't
hate much more than supporting feticide.
A fetus is a human being. You and others who support and defend
feticide, have to say the fetus isn't. It's your only way of defending
feticide. Those however, who are intelligent enough, realize how
wrong you are and how much hate you harbor.
You'll never be accepted, get used to it.
It takes a lot of hate to try and defend feticide.
