Over the past few months, I have paid close attention to both sides. I

he is making good points on the failures in Iraq.
Joe Biden as well, just made very good points and has said Bush has
failed
and we need to send more troops over there. He is right.
Kerry has said that we need to work more closely with the U.N., and this
is
where Bush has failed, and get the world to work together in Iraq right
now.
It is a mess, and our government is to blame. I have struggled for over
a
year to support this. Being a conservative myself, I have done what
most
others that are loyal to their party do all the time. I have argued to
protect and defend them. But I just can't do this any longer. Not
after
seeing how some of our military men and women are coming home.
I have thought also about this democracy that our Government wants in
Iraq.
Who's democracy? Ours? What if the Iraqi's don't want "our" democracy?
What if they don't want democracy at all? It is apparent that most are
not
willing to fight for their freedom.
BUT....we also got to stay the course, as Kerry said, and make sure that
Iraq doesn't fall into the wrong hands and we are facing them again in
another 10 years.
We need more troops, we need help.
I can't defend Bush any longer. I will remain a conservative, but I
can't
sit back and hide the fact that inside I know what is going on is wrong.
I
can't blindly defend the party that I was very proud of and still wish
to
remain a member of. I have to be honest about this and straight up...we
failed. Simple as that, we failed.
I am still supportive of the fact that being rid of Saddam, the world is
better off. Not safer, but better off with out him and his regime.
I have also been listening and reading more from Blix as well. We
should
have listened to him.
So this is clearing up a part of me that for the past year has known was
wrong. I simply can't defend Bush's policies in Iraq any longer. I
have to
walk away from Bush on this one.
I still will not support Kerry, he has other issues that I strongly do
not
support.
I wish that John Edwards was able to run, I would vote for him. Or
Lieberman for that matter, but I knew he was done a long time ago. This
country will never allow a Jewish man to be president...it just isn't
going
to happen. Not in our lifetime anyway.
I took a survey today. The republican party sent out a survey asking
our
opinion on Bush. I answered it honestly. And in the end, I said, if I
have
to miss voting this time..I will. I would rather not vote at all than
vote
for Kerry or Bush right now. I hate to do that because it would be the
first time I didn't vote. But I can't support either one of them. I
will
be watching Kerry though more strongly.
As far as Bush goes, I also included in that survey...get someone else
from
the Republicans to replace him.
I sincerely wish that McCain would run again. I will be voting, and it
will be for Kerry- I prefer the possibility of a fuckup to the
guaranteed, proven fuckup- but I'm not completely thrilled with it.
Well at least you admit Kerry is what he is.
I don't know yet, and I am undecided.
Unless Bush can show me he is more willing to work with world leaders and
our congress, I just can't sit back and
say he is right.
It is apparent that our leaders have lost site and control on the situation
in Iraq.
I am sure they can get their act together, but they got to start working
together.
I agree with Joe Biden's assessment of the situation and he has solutions
that, to me, sound
good.
As far as the other B.S. goes about A.W.O.L. , Cocaine, D.U.I.'s, and
***** like that...I will not partake in crap like that.
Bush was wrong yes in his youth. So were about 99.9999% of the other
politicians. If we were to sit back and dig into most or all of them we
would probably come to the conclusion that not one of them is worth
sitting
in their seat on Capital Hill. It is STUPID getting into ***** like
that. Just like it was stupid digging up all the ***** on Clinton, and
the
other politicians. What they do in office NOW is what we should be
concerned about.
If others want to play into that dumb *****, don't even try to get me
into
it. There are more important things to worry about right now. Like
making
sure our men and women can get that job done in Iraq and get out of
there.
