High School Traditional Values Club Wins Equal Rights Victory |
In the end, decency always wins the day.
http://headlines.agapepress.org/archive/4/afa/32006b.asp
(AgapePress) - A conservative student club at one Michigan high school has
won a major free-speech victory. After initially resisting the idea, school
administrators recently allowed the group to display its flag alongside the
rainbow colored flag of the school's Diversity Club.
Two years ago, members of the Traditional Values Club (TVC) at Howell High
School in Howell, Michigan, approached the school's administration and asked
permission to display their club's flag in the main school hallway. School
officials refused the request, however, saying the flag could not be flown
because the student group was not officially recognized by the school -- nor
could it be recognized until it found a faculty advisor willing to sponsor
it.
Steve Crampton is chief counsel with the American Family Association Center
for Law & Policy, which assisted the TVC. He says the Howell High School
faculty has been resistant to the student group's existence from its
beginning and was initially reluctant to sponsor the club.
"The reason there was no one willing to serve as faculty sponsor, in my
opinion, is because the school had already condemned the club, at one point
calling them a hate group," Crampton asserts. "What faculty member, knowing
that the administration has firmly stated that this is a hate group, wants
to be affiliated with it?"
And yet, the attorney notes, the members of the Traditional Values Club
stood tall, and "remarkably" continued to seek out a faculty member. When,
after two years of arduous effort, the student club "finally got a sponsor,"
he says, the members "immediately went back to the flag issue."

But J Young is opposed to freedom. I wonder why he's celebrating this.
Oh, right, it's the "freedom" to be a John Bircher.

I believe he was referring to your having used "use" instead of "us,"
which is amusing given his use of "aint" (and without the apostrophe,

There is a world of difference, between "use" and "us". There is no way that
they can be used interchangeably.
By the bye, It was not a reference to the use of "use".

Ya know, not to be rude or anything, but to steer this back to the
original topic:
I am all for this "Traditional Values" club. I think everyone should
find their own forum from which to posit their views, no matter how
stupid, vacuous, bigoted, or otherwise inane.
Really, I do.
I also think that if people would just calm down a bit, they'd realize
that it'd be very easy to expose these christstain fucktards for
exactly what they are and shut them down.
It'd be very very simple:
Send in one gay man, one atheist, one Buddhist, and/or one Satanist to
join up. Not disrupt anything, of course, but just to talk about
traditional values, like traditional same-sex unions in the christian
church, traditional Buddhism, traditional Satan-worshipping, etc.
That is, if they even get that far.
My bet would be that the merest mention of who they are/what religion
they are would be enough for the people running such a club to kick
the newbies out.
And since the club is meeting on public property and is required to
accept all new members regardless of race, gender, creed,or sexual
orientation, then there would be sufficient grounds to can the club.
No need to get all pissy about it up front. Save that for the public
trial, where the group would be publicly exposed as a bigot club.
Problem solved.

I would be curious to know what the positions of the Traditional Values
group are.
If they are: there's nothing wrong with getting married. You shouldn't
discriminate against people who stay virgins until they're adults. A
mom and a dad with their own biological children can be as good a
family as anyone else, and should be treated with respect.... then I'd
say, good for them! I'm with you 100%! The school should certainly give
you as much rights as the gay-straight alliance.
If they are: there's something wrong with homosexuals. They shouldn't
be given the same rights as everyone else. They do not deserve equal
respect or dignity... well, then, I'd say they are a hate group no
matter what they CALL themselves, that they encourage unequal treatment
of students in the school, and they are no more welcome than a group
whose official positions are anti-Jewish, anti-Asian, or anti-Catholic.
What they call themselves is not important. Whether they stand for
equlaity and mutual respect among the students in the school, or
inequality and derision, is what is important.

Here's a hypothetical for you. Do you believe that pedophiles have
something wrong with them? If you do, doesn't that constitute (by your
logic above) a hate position by you? In some places, there are still laws
against homosexual behavior, just as there are laws against pedophilia. By
the logic you cite above, should those pedophiles be given the same rights
and respect as everyone else? Or do you advocate unequal treatment for
these people and qualify as advocating a hate position against them?
Certainly my hypothetical is extreme (for effect), and of course I do not
advocate any respect or undue rights for molesters. My point is that I
think your declaration is a bit simplistic, and the term "hate group" could
become little more than a PC buzzword.
That being said, I have the feeling that most "family values" groups and
advocates are usually way over the top in their lack of allowing for any
difference of opinion or perspective than theirs. My question is, then,
might that same type of myopic perspective also apply to your declaration
above?
P.S. This neither a loaded nor a simple question for you. Indeed, I think
it's very difficult and not at all simple. I would be interested in your
considered response.

There is always some fucking moron that trots out the pedophile issue.
Have you never discovered the difference between sex with consenting
adults,
and non-consentual sex between an adult and a minor?
You missed my point, of course. (Amazing how that could possibly happen.)
It was not about pedophiles (nor am I advocating any such behavior), but
rather branding anything one doesn't like as being "hate." Note that I
called the example extreme.
If you wanted to use Buicks instead, I'm be fine with that. (You know how
Buicks can be.)

I would be curious to know what the positions of the Traditional
Values group are.
If they are: there's nothing wrong with getting married. You
shouldn't discriminate against people who stay virgins until
they're adults. A mom and a dad with their own biological children
can be as good a family as anyone else, and should be treated with
respect.... then I'd say, good for them! I'm with you 100%! The
school should certainly give you as much rights as the
gay-straight alliance.
If they are: there's something wrong with homosexuals. They
shouldn't be given the same rights as everyone else. They do not
deserve equal respect or dignity... well, then, I'd say they are a
hate group no matter what they CALL themselves, that they
encourage unequal treatment of students in the school, and they
are no more welcome than a group whose official positions are
anti-Jewish, anti-Asian, or anti-Catholic.
Here's a hypothetical for you. Do you believe that pedophiles have

No, I got your point quite well. Your point was that you had no real

Okay. Lets pretend that you do have a point.
I will answer your question, as best I can,
First off. AFAIK, there has never been a study done to determine what makes
pedophiles.
However, we do know that genetic variation, in humans, runs the whole gamut, of
possibilities.
There are variants in both physiological, and psychological make up, that can
range from perfect physical, and mental health, male or female, on one side, to
a deformed vegetable that is neither male or female, or is both, on the other.
Most people fall in between.
Now it is possible to have a slight physical variation, say, a rudimentary
sixth finger, or as a friends child had, a nictating membrane over the eyes,
perhaps a couple of second teeth that never appear, and those things can be
accepted as genetic variation.
More extreme physical and mental variants-
Some are born blind, deaf, mute, Downs Syndrome, Autistic, congenital idiots,
lame, limbs or organs deformed or missing.
There are those who's minds will never develop beyond that of a three or four
year old, and those who will be brilliant.
Or a person can be born with both male and female sex organs, Hermaphrodites.
Some are born apparently normal, but their genitalia never develop, Morphadites
The variation is near infinite.
....And no one ever suggests that these conditions, are "Choice": Do they?
But let the variation be in someone's sexual orientation, and all of a sudden,
genetics has nothing to do with it, all of a sudden it is a "CHOICE": Why?
If a person can be born with the physical characteristics of either or both
sexes, why not with the mental characteristics of either both sexes, or of the
opposite sex to the physical body.
Or something even smaller, all the physical and mental characteristics of the
physical sex, but a small, tiny little variant; They are sexually attracted,
only to their own sex, and sexually repelled by the opposite sex.
But you screech "CHOICE", as loud as you can: Why?
Why cant it be genetic, like a rudimentary sixth finger?
To Pedophiles.
A Test.
Do You Have Pedophiliac Leanings?
Assuming that the following questions refer to the gender to which you are
naturally attracted, I.E, if you are a heterosexual male, assume that the
questions refer to a female.
Q1: Place the following in the order that you would generally find them most
sexually attractive
a: a twenty year old.?
b: a fifty year old?
c: an eighty year old?
d: why did you pick that for No1?
Q2: Place the following in the order that you would generally find them most
sexually attractive
a: an eighteen year old?
b: a forty eight year old?
c: a seventy eight year old?
d: why did you pick that for No1?
Q3: Place the following in the order that you would generally find them most
sexually attractive
a: a sixteen year old?
b: a forty six year old?
c: a seventy six year old?
d: why did you pick that for No1?
Q4:Place the following in the order that you would generally find them most
sexually attractive
a: a fourteen year old?
b: a forty four year old?
c: a seventy four year old?
d: why did you pick that for No1?
I will continue, or not, when I see your reply.
Frankly, I'm expecting you to bottle out.

I agree, but 1: You did not have to make sense of my little questionnaire. I
would have explained it when you answered.
2: I was not discussing "hate groups", but trying to answer the
question you asked -
Re: " Here's a hypothetical for you. Do you believe that pedophiles have
something wrong with them?"
3: To that question, my " silly "quiz" " was *very relevant
If (as I doubt) you have a point to make, feel free to make it.
Without your answers, I do not have the data to make my point, as anything that
I might say, will be denied.
If you're
simply trying to be an idiot, congratulations. You've succeeded.
Why did the questions scare you so badly?

I would be curious to know what the positions of the
Traditional
Values group are.
If they are: there's nothing wrong with getting married. You
shouldn't discriminate against people who stay virgins until
they're adults. A mom and a dad with their own biological
children
can be as good a family as anyone else, and should be treated
with
respect.... then I'd say, good for them! I'm with you 100%! The
school should certainly give you as much rights as the
gay-straight alliance.
If they are: there's something wrong with homosexuals. They
shouldn't be given the same rights as everyone else. They do
not
deserve equal respect or dignity... well, then, I'd say they
are a
hate group no matter what they CALL themselves, that they
encourage unequal treatment of students in the school, and they
are no more welcome than a group whose official positions are
anti-Jewish, anti-Asian, or anti-Catholic.
Here's a hypothetical for you. Do you believe that pedophiles
have
something wrong with them?
There is always some fucking moron that trots out the pedophile
issue. Have you never discovered the difference between sex with
consenting adults, and non-consentual sex between an adult and a
minor?
You missed my point,
No, I got your point quite well. Your point was that you had no
real
point.
You missed my point. But you raise the issue of your stupidity.
Okay. Lets pretend that you do have a point.
I will answer your question, as best I can,
First off. AFAIK, there has never been a study done to determine what
makes
pedophiles.
However, we do know that genetic variation, in humans, runs the whole
gamut, of
possibilities.
There are variants in both physiological, and psychological make up,
that
can
range from perfect physical, and mental health, male or female, on one
side, to
a deformed vegetable that is neither male or female, or is both, on the
other.
Most people fall in between.
Now it is possible to have a slight physical variation, say, a
rudimentary
sixth finger, or as a friends child had, a nictating membrane over the
eyes,
perhaps a couple of second teeth that never appear, and those things
can
be
accepted as genetic variation.
More extreme physical and mental variants-
Some are born blind, deaf, mute, Downs Syndrome, Autistic, congenital
idiots,
lame, limbs or organs deformed or missing.
There are those who's minds will never develop beyond that of a three
or
four
year old, and those who will be brilliant.
Or a person can be born with both male and female sex organs,
Hermaphrodites.
Some are born apparently normal, but their genitalia never develop,
Morphadites
The variation is near infinite.
...And no one ever suggests that these conditions, are "Choice": Do
they?
But let the variation be in someone's sexual orientation, and all of a
sudden,
genetics has nothing to do with it, all of a sudden it is a "CHOICE":
Why?
If a person can be born with the physical characteristics of either or
both
sexes, why not with the mental characteristics of either both sexes, or
of
the
opposite sex to the physical body.
Or something even smaller, all the physical and mental characteristics
of
the
physical sex, but a small, tiny little variant; They are sexually
attracted,
only to their own sex, and sexually repelled by the opposite sex.
But you screech "CHOICE", as loud as you can: Why?
Why cant it be genetic, like a rudimentary sixth finger?
To Pedophiles.
A Test.
Do You Have Pedophiliac Leanings?
Assuming that the following questions refer to the gender to which you
are
naturally attracted, I.E, if you are a heterosexual male, assume that
the
questions refer to a female.
Q1: Place the following in the order that you would generally find them
most
sexually attractive
a: a twenty year old.?
b: a fifty year old?
c: an eighty year old?
d: why did you pick that for No1?
Q2: Place the following in the order that you would generally find them
most
sexually attractive
a: an eighteen year old?
b: a forty eight year old?
c: a seventy eight year old?
d: why did you pick that for No1?
Q3: Place the following in the order that you would generally find them
most
sexually attractive
a: a sixteen year old?
b: a forty six year old?
c: a seventy six year old?
d: why did you pick that for No1?
Q4:Place the following in the order that you would generally find them
most
sexually attractive
a: a fourteen year old?
b: a forty four year old?
c: a seventy four year old?
d: why did you pick that for No1?
I will continue, or not, when I see your reply.
Frankly, I'm expecting you to bottle out.
My reply is your silly "quiz" makes no sense and is not germane
Afraid to answer: Okay.
Apparently you don't read, and just as apparently you don't give a damn what
anybody else says if it doesn't coincide exactly with what you want to hear.
Okay.

Why did the questions scare you so badly?
They didn't. You lie. Why do have to lie to try to make a point? Is your
position so fragile? Sad.
But to make you happy, I'm a straight guy in my fifties who is most
attracted to attractive women in their thirties and forties.
Happy now?
So stop lying and actually make your point... if you expect to be treated
like an adult worth talking to. If not, have a nice day and don't waste my
time with any more silly *****.

Life's rough. Deal with it.
You're obviously trying to play word games designed to trap the unsuspecting
player into giving you an answer you can twist to make your point. I'm not
into dishonest, manipulative games like that. IF you have a legitimate
point to make, make it. If not, don't waste my time.

No, I wasn't, but now that you have raised the matter, you do seem to have some
issues, in that respect.
I'm not

Your refusal to answer the questions, coupled with your other statements, rather
gives the lie to that.
If you would not do it your self, why assume that others are any less honest?
IF you have a legitimate
point to make, make it.
I had, but your obvious distrust, of answering simple questions, makes it
impossible, no matter what you may now answer.

Having experienced dishonest manipulative words games by dishonest people, I

Not at all. My declining to play word games is based on expereince. If you
want to call that a lie, knock yourself out. Doesn't make any difference to
me, or to what is really so.

I had,
So you claim.

Simple questions? No. Loaded questions. And that statement reinforces my
reasonable distrust.

No, they ware not loaded.
If you had actually read what I posted, you would have seen that the second part
of each question, was "Why?", allowing you to qualify your answers.
Loaded questions, do not allow you to do that.
