How Many Medals Did Bob Dole and George Herbert Walker Bush Win? |
Rush Limbaugh asked a caller today how many medals Bush 41 and Bob Dole were
awarded. The caller didn't know. He didn't know because Bush and Dole are
modest men who served their country without asking anything in return.
Compare that to one of the current candidates for the presidency. I'll bet
the caller knew how many medals John Kerry has. He knew because Kerry has
cheapened his service by using it as a campaign gimmick. True heroism speaks
for itself; a lesson John Kerry hasn't learned.

Yeah right. Kerry has spent the last 30 years in the U.S. Senate where
his voting record is more socialist than Teddy Kennedy and Hilly
Clinton combined, but he wants to talk about 4 months he spent in Viet

years that would cause anyone to vote for him.

You could ask a Ditto-head the capital of New York and they wouldn't know
either.
....but if one checks, one will discover the touting of G H W Bush's WWII
naval aviator exploits during his political life in books, political ads, a
special, and in a special section at the 1992 Republican Convention.
For humble veterans, you have to look to guys like Art Buchwald, Charleton
Heston and Mike Wallace and dozens of modest old-timers you cross paths with
every week in your own life. But a 'humble' politician....no such animal.

Bob Dole is crippled and brought it up constantly to the point were
comedians were walking around with a pen sticking ot of their hand.
Kerry tried to stay out of the fray but Bush's people mistakenly thought
they could say anything, run harmful misleading ads and Kerry would take it
lying down like a good puppy.
They were wrong. Rush is wrong for America, too.
Rush should be on a tractor working for a living not whoring himself for

Well, no, it was the Democrats (JFK) who first made it such a big
issue.
The new JFK is trying for PT-109 status. This is the only reason I
can think of for him bringing up his (short) military service and
opening all those doors for the other side to chuck rocks through.
He's running a movie in his head with himself as the star and views
himself as John Fitzgerald Kennedy.
He's probably quite upset that reality refuses to conform to his
script and is now yelling "Quiet on the set!" to try to shut people up
who point out the facts that don't match his script.

How much of the 1992 presidental race material is online? I decided to
take a quick look and couldn't find anything. I remember Bush mentioning
his military record but I can't be sure my memory is accurate and I know
of no place on the web that holds transcripts of all the speeches or
video clips from that era. The material is 14 years old after all so
even if Bush talked about medals all day long finding a source on the
web is by no means an easy thing to do.
