"So the law is slacked and justice never goes forth. For the wicked =
surround the righteous, so justice goes forth perverted." Habakkuk 1:4
The moment of truth has arrived. The promised conservative pro-life =
justice has been chosen. John Roberts appears to be as bland as his =
name. He comes to us with little history of yea or nea. As a rash young =
lawyer he insists that Roe v. Wade is bad law. As a middle aged high =
court contender he considers Roe "settled law." His politics are the =
same as Pontius Pilate. Pilate knew Jesus to be innocent, yet killed HIM =
to appease the people.
Judge Roberts is a "rubber stamper", a status quo judge. He promises =
to do nothing to change abortion. Among pro-life conservatives, =
mediocrity is a virtue. Hillary Clinton confidently endorses Roberts =
along with Right to Life. Hillary's approval of Roberts makes her appear =
as a moderate.
So why do battles wage for and against Roberts nomination? It is the =
usual fund-raising tactics of both Planned Parenthood, and Right to =
Life. Planned Parenthood tells their donors that Bush is trying to end =
abortion. RTL assures us that Roberts is 100% pro-life. Both cry "GIVE! =
GIVE!"
Right to life offers no serious challenge to end abortion. THERE IS =
REALLY NOTHING FOR THE SUPREME COURT TO CONSIDER! South Dakota was =
prepared to pass legislation to outlaw abortion in March of 2004, but =
RTL joined forces with Planned Parenthood in defeating this legislation!
The Republican Party, in harness with RTL, consistently betrays the =
children slated for abortion. Nixon gave us Harry Blackmun, Ford gave us =
John Paul Stevens, Reagan gave us Sandra Day O'Conner and Anthony =
Kennedy, and George H. Bush (GHB) gave us David Souter.
GHB is a born-again pro-lifer. His miraculous conversion came about =
while he was Reagan's running mate. While a congressman, GHB sponsored =
Title X (Family Planning) legislation, Barbara Bush sat on the board of =
Austin Planned Parenthood. In 2004, their son spent $288.3 million on =
Title X, $33 million more than Bill Clinton! Barbara and Laura Bush are =
unabashedly pro-abortion!
Pro-lifers say that Reagan and Bush were deceived on their nominee's =
records; pro-lifers who believe this are self-deceived.
Judge Robert's wife Jane is also a lawyer. Jane Roberts is a past =
Executive Vice-president of Feminists for Life, she volunteered her =
legal services for its incorporation. Jane was on the board of FFL from =
1995-1999.
FFL is woman centered. They do not believe that abortion is in the =
best woman's interests. "Abortion is a reflection that we have not met =
the needs of women. Women deserve better than abortion." writes Sherrin =
Foster, president of FFL. Foster and her followers consider the woman's =
interests paramount.
Like Right to Life, Feminists for Life appeal to human reason rather =
than ultimate authority of God and his word.
RTL will never admit that for 33 years they have been following a =
failed strategy. They would rather make John Roberts the new pro-life =
standard. The term "pro-life" was rendered meaningless years ago. By RTL =
standards almost everyone is "pro-life". I have had abortionists tell me =
they were pro-life!
Planned Parenthood wants to make abortion safe, legal, and rare. How =
do RTL goals differ from that of PP's? Howard Dean and Democrats for =
Life are trying to make the Democratic Party appear less radical on =
abortion. We see little or no difference in the ideology of either =
party, yet America continues to kill 4000 babies per day!
If we were truly a nation under God we should obey God's commandments. =
We should not spit on the 6th Commandment and the children made in HIS =
image and likeness. God is sovereign over the affairs of men. HE does =
not give mankind permission to murder their children born or unborn.
We cannot work for God without God. We cannot win an appeal based =
solely on human reason. It is idolatry to put our faith and trust in any =
institution, party, or organization. We must put our faith and trust =
solely in God and HIS word. Only then will we be in a position to outlaw =
abortion, sodomy, pornography, and a host of other evils. If we fail, =
others will build on our ashes. I see little hope for change.

What makes you think John Roberts is pro-life? I have news for you, some
very prominent pro-choice legal scholars agree with John Roberts' view
of the Roe v. Wade decision. One of those people is Alan Dershowitz, who
could never be mistaken as a pro-life supporter if you listen to him.

Why should he do anything to overturn RvW when he knows it wont stop women

He will try to overturn it. All that crap of his about 'settled law' and
'precedent' doesn't even touch on overturning it, only interpreting it while
it's still there. And even that's also likely another republican lie.

Don't be so sure. Some of the most faithful defenders of women's
reproductive rights on the Supreme Court, such as Sandra Day O'Connor
were appointed by conservative presidents. If Roberts truly is a strict
adherent to the constitution, he can only reach the conclusion that the
federal government has no authority to restrict reproductive rights?
Why? Because nothing in the constitution gives the government that
authority and the default is to assume the government lacks authority on
restricting anything that is not referenced in the constitution, which
means abortion rights are a matter for the states. I suspect Roberts'
opinion on Roe v. Wade may stem only from constitutional issues, not
from the actual controversy surrounding the morality of abortion.
Lawyers have never placed great weight on morality in their practice of
law and I see nothing thus far that would make me believe Roberts is any
different.
The problem with the Republicans who expect abortion rights to be
restricted at the federal level by appointing a strict constitutionalist
to a federal court judgeship is that the United States Constitution
simply does not support their goals. Eventually, the pro-liars will
realize this, but they are slow learners. The only way to make abortion
illegal everywhere in the United States is to pass a constitutional
amendment. Of course, the odds of such an amendment ever seeing the
light of day are slim and nil.
Abortion rights at the federal level will not be reduced if Bush sticks
to his word of appointing strict constitutionalists to federal
judgeships.

You're old enough to remember *something* before RvW...and I remember
Cracklin's statement being proved true back then. Even today, it's being
borne out - Eire bans abortions, so (what a surprise) Irish women hop a boat
across to Britain and get it done there.

You're old enough to remember *something* before RvW...and I remember
Cracklin's statement being proved true back then. Even today, it's being
borne out - Eire bans abortions, so (what a surprise) Irish women hop a
boat
across to Britain and get it done there.

No *****, Sherlock.
Kinda makes the baby killers look that much worse.

You fail to realize, welfare-whoreslut, that rarely do women and girls
die from complications from abortions. In fact the longer the
pregnancy progresses, the greater the risk that will come to them.
It is reported that childbirth is eleven times more likely to kill a
woman/girl than abortion, by the way.

## You tell me since they existed for ages.

They thrived and were seldom caught prior to RvW.

They did not thrive as much as after Roe V Wade went into effect.

## Of course not since safe clean abortion was available and legal. Aren't
you glad safe legal abortion put them out of business?

If the woman performs an illegal abortion on herself, then we can
imprison her, too.

$$ PUNISH her?

You still resorting to sexism?

## Are you?

Why do you think we would jail a man who performs an illegal abortion and
we would not jail a woman who transgresses the same law?

## Why should we?

Why?

Because sexism in law is not equal measure practice.

## That's irrelevant to a woman seeking abortion.

For being desperate?

No. For breaking the law.

## Whose law? Yours? No one has a right to force a woman to bear an
unwanted child.

How will that stop other desperate women from trying to abort
themselves - it didn't stop them before RvW.

Maybe there won't be as many desperate women as you seem to think there

Woman have aborted since time began, starting with certain herbs they
knew would work.

All women aborted since time began?

By doing some of your own research. By looking at when laws were
passed that prohibited abortion, and realizing that actions are allowed
and legal if they are not prohibited. By noting the fact that people
do not usually bluntly advertise illegal services in major papers and

The moment of truth has arrived. The promised conservative pro-life
justice has been chosen. John Roberts appears to be as bland as his
name.
=============
Why should he do anything to overturn RvW when he knows it wont
stop women from aborting? That it will simply drive poor women
underground where they will be taken advantage of and perhaps
killed or maimed. Rich women will simply fly to another country to
abort safely.

Vain speculation, abortionist pig.

===========================
So tell us how you plan to prevent abortion should it become illegal
again.

Easy. The person who performs the illegal abortion will be jailed.
Every person who thinks that I am against women is a real nutcasse.
If someone other than the woman performs an illegal abortion on her,
we can put that person in jail.
If the woman performs an illegal abortion on herself, then we can
imprison her, too.
It really wouldn't bother me at all.

Only poor women who want abortions will be affected.
Women with enough money for an airline ticket and
the cost of the doctor will get whatever they want outside of the US.

$$ Don't be surprised if people like Johnny start to demand that all women
who plan to fly to some other country submit to pregnancy tests. If they're
pregnant they'll be refused a ticket to leave.

The attack on Roe V Wade is also an attack on poor
women destined to drive them deeper into despair and poverty.

$$ That's the whole idea behind most anti-choicer thinking = PUNISH that
******* for having the gall, the utter audacity to have sex! How DARE a
woman enjoy sex and not want a baby???? HOW DARE SHE? They feel that's the
price she and the child they force her to bear must pay for her slutism.
Never mind the large numbers of married women who abort. You know, all
those <sarcasm> filthy sluts having sex with their sex crazed
*****-mongering husbands.........
