July Surprise |
While vacation and playing golf, Bush often talked tough about how he
was doing something about terrorism. However, late last month,
President Bush lost his greatest advantage in his bid for reelection. A
poll conducted by ABC News and The Washington Post discovered that
challenger John Kerry was running even with the president on the
critical question of whom voters trust to handle the war on terrorism.
Largely as a result of the deteriorating occupation of Iraq, Bush lost
what was, in April, a seemingly prohibitive 21-point advantage on his
signature issue. But, even as the president's poll numbers were
sliding, his administration was implementing a plan to insure the
public's confidence in his hunt for Al Qaeda.
Now more than just American, allie, and Iraqi lives are at stake. Now
it is Bush and Republican control of the White House. We are no longer
talking only about lives, now Bush is in trouble. In other words, it
is time to really make an effort!

The Pakistanis have been told at every level that apprehension or
killing of Bin Laden before the election is an absolute must. A White
House aide told ul-Haq last spring that "it would be best if the arrest
or killing of [Bin Laden] were announced on twenty-six, twenty-seven,
or twenty-eight July"--the first three days of the Democratic National
Convention in Boston.
This is the White House we all expect from the Republicans!

But toadstain (BKA GW Bush) said they already have OBL in custody. Of
course, he also said he wouldn't post in alt.politics anymore, or hide
behind his daughter when the lead starts flying.

So, what was the lie? The quotes? This is like Michael Moore. He
just gave you the facts and rather than comment on THE FACTS you attack
