Kerry asks Bush to, "Make it go away!" |
After going around huffing and a-puffing that, if Bush
wanted a debate about Vietnam, "Here is my answer: BRING.
IT. ON," Kerry has now gone to ground and is demanding Bush
call it off. Meanwhile, his lawyers are threatening suits
and the campaign's complained to the Federal Election
Commission to get the Swift vets taken off air.
If this campaign were any more inept, Michael Moore would
be making a documentary claiming Kerry's a Republican plant
secretly controlled by Karl Rove and the House of Saud.

If John Kerry can't build a campaign organization that
can de-fang 250 guys spending a million bucks, how good a
president could he possibly be? Instead he's wasting his
campaign cash on ads trying to explain that he didn't lie
all that much about Vietnam, and besides Edwards has nice
hair.

Someone needs to tell that to John Kerry. Did you know he served in Vietnam?

No? Perhaps you haven't noticed, but George Bush is running on the basis of
his recent service as an elected official while John Kerry is running on his
record of military service during the Vietnam War. Discussing the issues
that are currently affecting this country will mean a landslide for Bush.
Kerry knows that, that's why he's making Vietnam the issue.

Bush is running on his record? Where? How? It appears he is trying to
trash Kerry as much as possible, because he knows he has no record to
run on.

Yes.

Everywhere?
How?
In every way.
It appears he is trying to trash Kerry as much as possible, because

What has Bush done or said to trash Kerry? Bush's has a fine record on
defense, foreign policy, and the economy upon which to run. His record on
domestic spending is bad, however.

I don't have time to list all of his failures, so let's just start with the
fact that he let his guard down before 9/11, in the face of many suggestions
that he ought to do otherwise, and then started an ill-advised war in Iraq
based on hidden agendas and lies. I'm not interested in getting into a
debate about this assertion with you. It's an accurate assessment of Bush's
actions (and inactions). Deal with it.

Spending more than the government is bringing in. While technically this is
from Congress, Bush does put budgets forward to Congress. And, of course,
his party is in control in Congress.
As to the specifics, it really does not matter. We can theorize on that all
day... and may never agree. The fact we can look up, and unless you are one

We can argue the why's all day... the facts are not in question: there was
an impressive and healthy surplus before Bush. When Bush and his party

http://smallurl.com/?i=17426
Steve has argued such idiotic things such as if you trust legal dictionaries
over him on matters of definitions in legal context then you are "confused".
Just for a change of topic, so we do not have to go back and forth with they
yes I did - no you didn't BS, let me ask you some completely unrelated
questions.
* Do you think some innocent people are found guilty in courts?
* Do you think some guilty people are found "not guilty" in courts?
* Is it possible to be guilty of breaking the law yet not charged with the
crime?
Keep all of this in a legal context - in other words, the word "guilty" does
not mean feelings of guilty or anything else other than what it would in a
legal context.

Spending more than the government is bringing in. While technically this is
from Congress, Bush does put budgets forward to Congress. And, of course,
his party is in control in Congress.
As to the specifics, it really does not matter. We can theorize on that all

Actually, McNicoll is his own unique troll. He appears to specialize
in doing just what he is doing here, namely "refuting by assertion" He
rarely backs up what he says, and is, basically, a useless poster. I
would rate him in a similar category as Snubis (aka Xomicron or
Gactimus).

No? Perhaps you haven't noticed, but George Bush is running on the
basis of his recent service as an elected official while John Kerry
is running on his record of military service during the Vietnam War.
Discussing the issues that are currently affecting this country will
mean a landslide for Bush. Kerry knows that, that's why he's making

Bush is running on his record? Where? How? It appears he is trying to
trash Kerry as much as possible, because he knows he has no record to
run on.
Oh, Bush has a "record" Dave, but not one that he nor anyone else would
want to run on. He will lose in November and I don't think it will even

Kerry has not made Vietnam *the* issue. He obviously wants people to be
aware of his record (there's such nice contrast with Bush's record), but
if you listen to his speeches, they're almost entirely about policy
issues. He doesn't stand at the podium telling war stories.
