Kerry backpedals to a new lie |
The Kerry campaign had to back down from Kerry's 35-year old lie
that he was in Cambodia on Christmas eve in 1968. Now they say
that Kerry's recollection was "imprecise" but he was in Cambodia
in January or February of 1969.
http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/nationworld/2002005720_cambodia15.html
However, that new story is now being nailed as a lie:
http://froggyruminations.blogspot.com/2004/08/seals-swift-boats.html
Kerry is lying about his service in Vietnam. He is the only one who
says he was in Cambodia. Not even his "Band of Brothers" backs him
up on this claim. His whole chain of command say it couldn't have
happened. Hundreds of Vietnam veterans say he is lying. His website
credited him with combat that took place on January 29, 1969 -- the day
BEFORE HE TOOK COMMAND. He wasn't even there! He claims he has
released his full Vietnam records but that, too, is a lie.
Kerry needs to sign a Form 180 to fully release his Vietnam records.
All he currently provides is a hand-picked subset of the record and
a pack of lies that are being disproven every day. We want facts; not
Kerry's tall tales. We want the after-action reports. We want his
medical reports. We want to know if he actually earned all those
purple hearts.

A bit later he did just over four months in-country, on Swift Boats.
Bush got into the Texas NG ahead of others on a waiting list, got
transferred to Alabama to work on a friend's political campaign (a unit

Ah, but Kerry actually killed a commie. George wakes up from wet

Actually, he did a little more than a year. Newly minted officers must serve
1 year at the Navy's request before they can request an assignment - even
combat.
The six month number is a lie being floated by Kerry's detractors to make it
seem like he only served a single tour.

The point is that Gore's tour in SEA was cut short, and he was released from
the service early to go to school.
This is the same sort of thing as Bush getting out early to go to school.
If it was okay for Gore, then it was also okay for Bush.
Please explain why, during Clinton's first campaign, the Democrats made a
big deal that military service was not a qualification to be President of
the USA, but now that the Democratic candidate is a decorated veteran,
suddenly such service is the most important qualification to be President?

Because the Republicans have always harped on the defense and military

news:cg0d46$9v9$1@puck.cc.emory.edu:
Kerry served 2 tours in Vietnam, tours he volunteered for.
A full tour in Vietnam typically lasted 12 months.
Kerry did six months off-shore on the USS Gridley.
A bit later he did just over four months in-country, on Swift Boats.
Bush got into the Texas NG ahead of others on a waiting list, got
transferred to Alabama to work on a friend's political campaign (a
unit that didn't fly the plane he had been trained to fly), by all
accounts never showed up for the better part of a year, and then got
out 9 months early to go to business school.
Kerry got out early as well.
He did indeed "get out early," However your boy was never in!
Wrong again. Bush served in the Air National Guard.

Vietnam, this raw class discrimination strikes me as
the most damaging to the ideal that all Americans are
created equal and owe equal allegiance to their
country."

The Kerry campaign had to back down from Kerry's 35-year old lie
that he was in Cambodia on Christmas eve in 1968. Now they say
that Kerry's recollection was "imprecise" but he was in Cambodia
in January or February of 1969.

Kerry served 2 tours in Vietnam, tours he volunteered for. Where was Bush?
Kerry received 3 Purple Hearts, a Bronze Star, and a Silver Star. Where was
Bush?
Kerry did say he was in Cambodia during Christmas in 1968.
That's what th topic is about.

Note also ... most news groups are read by more than americans.
Suggest this should be in some kind of USA politics group - only.

In order to have your point have any meaning you should address your
post to the original poster. It is the person who sent his post to
multiple newsgroups.
You sent your post to two of us in this thread. It is rather curious
that you made your whine about crossposting to two of the people
taking the right wing position, but didn't notice the responses made
by the three left wingnuts who crossposted to the same groups.
I guess Liberal Kiwis are just as shill as Liberal Yanks.
