Kerry gave his foes too much fodder |
Irony watch: I admit I've been flip-flopping this morning.
On the one hand, last night Kerry was the best he was since the Democratic
convention, and maybe the primaries. My head is saying, that's got to give
him at least a point or two in the polls, if not more. He no longer looks
orange, he no longer is giving dull, droning, rambling answers. If he
didn't quite look presidential, he stopped looking like the tall Dukakis.
On the other hand, my gut is saying that Kerry didn't do what he needed to
do. Kerry Spot reader John points out that the Democratic candidate gave
his foes a lot of ammunition for the coming days:
Kerry obviously won on style. He looked good. But who has the material
to work with and exploit over the next week? Clearly Bush.
1. "Global test?" Major mistake. We're gonna hear a lot about this.
Probably today. Hopefully today.
2. Kerry didn't seem to know there were already sanctions on Iran.
3. Summit. Summit. Summit. Blah, Blah. Blah.
4. Kerry is opposed to the nuclear bunker busters as though we're the
moral equivelant of our enemies. How very 80's of him.
5. Kerry certainly won Kim Jong Il's vote.
6. Kerry wants both bi-lateral AND multi-lateral discussions with
North Korea? Sheesh. How about a stand? Sorry, forgot who we're
dealing with.
7. Kerry said nuclear proliferation is his greatest fear and opposes
missile defense? Uhm, okay.
8. He mis-spoke about the 87 billion dollars? How about, as Bush might
put it, he mis-voted? Terrible reponse.
9. Was Iraq a mistake, or wasn't it? He doesn't know. He says both in
the same debate. I rub my hands in anticipation of the RNC's
commercial on this.
10. No subways were closed during the Republican convention as Kerry
maintained. Duh.
There's little I see for Kerry to work with coming out of this debate
in a substantive way. Bush can make hay. Kerry can pump his fist in
the air. I'd prefer both but given the choice, I'll take the hay.
Maybe I can Kerry my way out of these conflicting senses. Kerry's style
was dramatically improved, but the substance of his answers is going to
hurt him in the coming days... and I return to my prediction of last
night, no dramatic movement in the polls in either direction.

Does not seem like the OP was claiming that at all.

At the World Women's Conference, the first speaker from England stood up:
"At last year's conference we spoke about being more assertive with our
husbands. Well after the conference I went home and told my husband that I
would no longer cook for him and that he would have to do it himself. After
the first day I saw nothing. After the second day I saw nothing. But after
the third day I saw that he had cooked a wonderful roast lamb."
The crowd cheered.
The second speaker from America stood up: "After last year's conference I
went home and told my husband that I would no longer do his laundry and that
he would have to do it himself. After the first day I saw nothing. After the
second day I saw nothing. But after the third day I saw that he had done not
only his own washing but my washing as well."
The crowd cheered.
The third speaker from Ireland stood up: "After last year's conference I
went home and told my husband that I would no longer do his shopping and
that he would have to do it himself. After the first day I saw nothing.
After the second day I saw nothing. But after the third day I could see a
little bit out of my left eye."

Turtle?.... what turtle?
you gonna try to nail a turtle with your little pee pee now kiwi?
Man and a woman had been dating for about a year and their relationship was
taking a turn towards getting serious. Man proposed and she accepted,
however she told him that she wanted him to know that her chest was just
like a babys. He said that he loved her and that her measurements didn't
matter to him. He also told her that his penis was also like a baby. She
said that she loved him and size didn't matter. Come the day of the wedding
and all went well. That night the happy couple checked into the honeymoon
suite at the resort hotel. The blushing bride was in the bathroom putting on
a sexy nightie. Her husband was in the bed waiting. As she entered the
bedroom, she reminded him of her confession about her chest being like a
baby. "Don't worry honey" he said. She took her night gown off and her
breasts were the smallest he had ever seen. He said that he was going to get
undressed and reminded her of his confession about his penis being like a
baby. As he took his pants off the new bride said, "Good God All Mighty. I
thought you said your penis was like a baby" "It is," he said, "9 pounds and
21 inches long!"

How about ... "National Socialists"? That's got a nice ring to it.
<off in the background the stirring sounds of a trumpet fanfare
as if played by the High School band and a thousand youthful
voices break out into song- "Wenn wir fahren gegen Florida!"
and "Al Gore Lied". Albert Arnold Gore Jr. (b. March 31, 1948,
in Washington, D.C-- d. December 8, 2000, Florida Supreme
Court) joined the National Socialist party in 1974. He was killed
by political enemies in a fight at the polls in Florida. Glorified as
a martyr to the National Socialist cause, his song became the
official National Socialist anthem.>

you've contributed enough of your stupidity fag boy.
On a transatlantic flight, a plane passes through a severe storm. The
turbulence is awful, and things go from bad to worse when one wing is struck
by lightning. One woman in particular loses it.
Screaming, she stands up in front of the plane. "I'm too young to
die!" she wails. "Well, if I'm going to die, I want my last minutes on
Earth to be memorable! I've had plenty of sex in my life, but no
one has ever made me really feel like a woman! Well I've had it!
Is there ANYONE on this plane who can make me feel like a WOMAN??"
For a moment, there is silence. Everyone has forgotten their own
peril, and they all stare, riveted, at the desperate woman in the front of
the plane.
Then, a man stands up in the rear of the plane. "I can make you feel like a
woman," he says. He's gorgeous. Tall, built, with long, flowing
black hair and jet black eyes, he starts to walk slowly up the aisle,
unbuttoning his shirt one button at a time. No one moves.
The woman is breathing heavily in anticipation as the stranger approaches.
He removes his shirt. Muscles ripple across his chest as he reaches
her, and extends the arm holding his shirt to the trembling woman, and
whispers:
"Iron this."

A professor is giving the first year medical students their first lecture on
autopsies, and decides to give them a few basics before starting.
"You must be capable of two things to do an autopsy. The first thing is that
you must have no sense of fear."
At this point, the lecturer sticks his finger into the dead man's *****,
pulls it out, and then licks it. He asks all the students to do the same
thing with the corpses in front of them. After a couple of minutes' silence,
they follow through with his disgusting command.
"The second thing is that you must have an acute sense of observation: How
many of you noticed that I stuck my middle finger into the corpse's *****,
but I licked my index finger?"
After the class was over, it took the janitor three hours to mop up the

A funeral service is being held in a synagogue for a woman who has just
passed away. At the end of the service the pallbearers are carrying the
casket out, when they accidentally bump into a wall, jarring the casket.
They hear a faint moan. They open the casket and find that the woman is
actually alive.
She lives for ten more years and then dies. A ceremony is again held at the
same synagogue and at the end of the ceremony the pallbearers are again
carrying the casket.
As they are walking out, the husband cries, "Watch out for the wall!"

In article <t2o7d.2383$gk.967@okepread01>, says...
False. He said that he would act in the interests of our national
security first, but that we needed to justify our actions to the world.
That is true, unless we want to have no allies more potent than poland.
We're gonna hear a lot about this.
Probably today. Hopefully today.
Bush tried to crow about it, but Kerry already said in the same sentence
that he would act in the interest of our national security. Kerry said
that he would never give another nation veto power over our security.
But we still will need to persuade our allies that our cause is just. If
we fail to make our case to the world then they will effectively claim
that our actions are a "crusade against Islam", as they have with Bush.
Bush needed the legitimacy of a UN war to avoid this charge, but Bush
was too interested in wagging the dog.
2. Kerry didn't seem to know there were already sanctions on Iran.
Of course he did. Bush acted like it's only possible to put one
sanction on Iran. You can put many on them and you can make them much
tighter. Bush apparently believes in sanctions for everybody except
saddam. That's another Bush flip-flop.
3. Summit. Summit. Summit.
Clinton had it and succeeded. Bush fucked it up and now insists that
nobody can do it. Kerry can resolve the issue and it's a serious one.
If Bush conducts another major war before resolving issues in North
Korea then he will leave them with a free hand, while we are busy
pursuing neo-con fantasies. In fact, we can probably expect china to
invade Taiwan and North Korea to invade South Korea if the Bush
administration does another diversionary war in Syria or Iran.
Blah, Blah. Blah.
4. Kerry is opposed to the nuclear bunker busters as though we're the
moral equivelant of our enemies. How very 80's of him.
No, dumbfuck, terrorists wanting nukes is not 1980's stuff. If we set
the precedent of pursuing more nukes then it will encourage more rogue
states and give propaganda victories to terrorists, who can rightly
point to the hypocrisy of US policy.
5. Kerry certainly won Kim Jong Il's vote.
*****. Kerry would actually do something about this very serious
threat, whereas Bush has virtually ignored it, while playing "war
president" elsewhere. Kim Jong Il is far more dangerous than Saddam,
which is why he needed to be dealt with and the Bushies won't even talk.
6. Kerry wants both bi-lateral AND multi-lateral discussions with
North Korea? Sheesh. How about a stand?
Again, you're a fucking retard and a hypocrite. You don't have to just
choose one. That's like saying that wanting lettuce and mayo on your
burger is not being decisive. Secondly, Bush equally talked about
multi-pronged approaches to problems so don't tell me that Kerry has to
choose just one.
Sorry, forgot who we're
dealing with.
Bush has flipped far more times in four years than Kerry has in his
whole life. In the case of Multi-lateral talks they are clearly
proceeding so fucking slow that they are having virtually no measurable
effect. We need to jumpstart real diplomacy and bilateral talks will do
that.
7. Kerry said nuclear proliferation is his greatest fear and opposes
missile defense?
Missile defense is even less effective than trying to stop nuclear
proliferation. Missile defense has always been an unworkable fantasy
that is make work for large contractors. Our present systems are so
poor as to be essentially worthless and can easily be defeated with
simple countermeasures.
Uhm, okay.
Yeah, it is okay. Non-proliferation is stopping the technology before
it gets there. Bush claims that this is how we have to do it because
otherwise we'd have to be right 100% of the time to prevent attacks.
Then Bush flip flops and says he wants starwars anyway.
8. He mis-spoke about the 87 billion dollars? How about, as Bush might
put it, he mis-voted? Terrible reponse.
Kerry didn't misvote. Republicans voted against the bill before they
voted for it and all Kerry asked for is to pay for the bill, instead of
merely charging it to the national debt. In the senate people vote for
multiple different versions of bills with various kinds of amendments
all the time. If Kerry had voted for it then this would be held up as
another flip flop showing that he endorsed Bush's reckless and illegal
war.
9. Was Iraq a mistake, or wasn't it? He doesn't know. He says both in
the same debate. I rub my hands in anticipation of the RNC's
commercial on this.
That's horseshit again. He said Bush's mistake was how he fought the
war and failed to plan. Bush was authorized to use force just like a
police officer is authorized to use force, but that doesn't mean that a
cop can just start shooting people without evidence or justification.
Kerry said that it was right to give the authority to use force in Iraq
to insure that Saddam was held accountable and to restore inspectors.
10. No subways were closed during the Republican convention as Kerry
maintained. Duh.
It sounded like Kerry was talking about tunnels, bridges and other
infrastructure. Infrastructure like some of the entrances to Penn
Station were closed. Lots of things were closed down within a several
mile radius of the convention.

"It is fashionable to wax apocalyptic about the
threat to humanity posed by the AIDS virus, 'mad cow'
