Lawsuit challenging same-sex 'marriages' in NY continues |
Even in a state as liberal as New York, people know when some shyster
is pulling a fast one.

A New York judge has ruled against dismissal of a suit that challenges
the state's recognition of same-sex "marriages" performed in Canada.
It's the latest in a case that was filed last year in response to the
New York state comptroller's attempt to recognize the marriages.
It was Comptroller Alal Hevesi's motion that was denied, in the suit
that an Alliance Defense Fund (ADF) statement says was filed on behalf
of New York taxpayers because the comptroller's office "acted
illegally when it decided to recognize out-of-state same-sex marriages
for the purpose of retirement benefits."
ADF senior counsel Brian Raum says a New York State Supreme Court
judge has already ruled that same-sex marriages from Canada are not
entitled to insurance benefits under state Civil Service law, and that
the Court of Appeals has already agreed marriage is defined as one man
and one woman.
And he says under New York law, taxpayers have the right to challenge
any illegal action by a state official that expends state funds.

Why do you care so much about something that will never happen to you,
J Young?
Who on earth would be dumb enough to marry you?
As for "gay marriage": face it, moron, it's coming. Whether next month
or next year, there are too many discussions. It's a fact and it's
only a matter of time.
Besides, would you care to explain why you're opposed to a civil union
between consenting adults?
