Media Crucifies Gibson |
Further to my comments below, an oddity appears to have
materialized. Apparently when the police file these
reports, they typically run to merely a few lines.
In this case, the report appears to extend to pages
and pages.
You have to wonder whether Mel Gibson was set up.
Did someone stalk him, and spy on his movements until
he could be jumped and charged?
Possible that someone spiked his drink(s)?
Almost like watching Superstar again.
You'd think there are more noteworthy stories out there,
but plainly some have a very big ax to grind.
Must be because of the Passion. Wonder why they hate
him so much?

Oh please. The guy admitted that he'd been struggling with alcoholism for

spiked.

See, I'm glad you explained, because I misunderstood completely.
*I* thought the point was that some people with believe any preposterous,
paranoid schizophrenic delusion, if it means they get to blame the people
they want to blame, and NOT blame the ones they DON'T want to blame.
I mean, that's how Bush keeps from being impeached...

Perhaps most DUI arrests don't involve quite so much paperwork because
most people (including most famous people) don't behave like such
complete assholes when they're arrested. If someone is arrested and
charged without incident, there's no need for a "voluminous report."
MASSIVE media coverage.
Yeah. Sort of like when Nick Nolte got busted a while back, eh? Or
maybe like when all eyes were on Robert Downey Jr. and his drug
problem. I seem to recall Tim Allen's DUI arrest while visiting his
home town in Michigan a few years ago getting a bit of media coverage
as well.
Gibson isn't being singled out. When the famous ***** up, the press has
a field day. Always has, always will. Next week or next month it'll be
somebody else. Gibson's career likely won't be permanently damaged by
this incident, so why are you so worried about it? Are you his
publicist?

This thread has really brought the idiots out of the woodwork.
At no point did I deny what Gibson said, or that he was drunk,
or that he made anti-semitic remarks. Nor did I try to defend
those remarks. Nor did I mention the word "jew". Yet, here are
all these people, now desperate to disparage the idea that our
bought and paid for media, arguably one of the worst in the
world for not giving us the real issues, is at fault for making
a meal of Gibson. If ever there was a smoking gun, you guys have
all proved it, without a doubt. Who ever, REALLY defends the
US media?
Now I am doubly convinced Gibson was set up and there was
an agenda to attempting to destroy him. Probably because
he's a dangerous anti-war Christian with a large fan club.

No, smacktard. You just posed the idea that maybe somebody spiked his drink
and somehow managed to get him pulled over and making anti-semitic slurs.
"We'll just spike his drink and cause him to get pulled over and go off on
anti-semitic rants. We'll get the police to tape the whole thing..."
That's comical. You're suggesting that by drugging somebody, you can cause
them to get pulled over and jew-bash. And that there's evidence because of
the legal paperwork and the fact that people on the internet outed you as a
jackass...the latter, by your own admission, solidified your belief.
That means that the so-called logic in your head tells you that unrelated
skeptics are, themselves, evidence. Brilliant.

This thread has really brought the idiots out of the woodwork.
At no point did I deny what Gibson said, or that he was drunk,
or that he made anti-semitic remarks. Nor did I try to defend
those remarks.
Brilliant.
You owe me a keyboard.

I would say that this post is FiveTwoAlphaOne in a nutshell,
but it really is the mentality of all Jew-haters.
Fabulous job, gatt.

Let's keep it in context:
"Why is this DUI arrest different from all other DUI
arrests?"
It isn't really.
Clues: Voluminous report filed.
And your experience with police reports is what, exactly? Ever
written one? Ever cruise The Smoking Gun? Police reports are verbose
because they have to be. Any arrest has to be documented, from start
to finish, because that report is the start of the court case.
MASSIVE media coverage.
Because it's Mel Gibson! Every time Britteny Spears appears in public
with her kid it makes headlines. When Nick Nolte got busted for DUI
it made front page news. Famous people sell papers; famous people
acting badly sell more papers. Add in the anti-Semetic rant, and it
becomes an even bigger story.
You guys are a real scream trying to defend the media!
And you're a real idiot if you think that's what we're doing.

Oh please. The guy admitted that he'd been struggling with alcoholism
for years.
Your point is?
That's it's HIGHLY unlikely that he was either "set up" or his drink was
spiked.
Duh.
Not duh. When you're stalking someone it's one of the oldest tricks
in the book to find their vices or secrets and lay a trap.
It may well be that's what happened.

If you can't see any of that, you must be as thick as two

Aliens did it!
Means: Spacecraft, matter-teleportation devices.
Opportunity: He was driving.
Motive: They're Jewish. THE ALIENS ARE JEWISH!
