Merry Christmas 2004 |
"Peace on earth and good will to all men"
May this Christmas be enjoyed by all. Let us remember all that which
binds us together, not that which draws us apart. A very Merry

Every time a person supports bigotry in public, and presents NO
relevant FACTS to back his/her stance in behalf of a loathsome
agenda against individual liberties and human rights, that person
has -- ironically -- further **damaged** the cause he/she supports.
And every time a fair-minded and sensible egalitarian opposes
such a bigot, publicly, and **presents** relevant FACTS that are
damaging to the bigot's agenda, that TOO is an additional nail in
the coffin lid of the agenda, and a push of that casket CLOSER
to the Drain of Extinction -- its well-deserved ultimate destination.

That'll be easy around here, at Casa de Instigator -- after three and a half
months apart, we've been making up for it ever since I came home a month ago.
Mrs. C got her steak dinner at Saltgrass for her birthday, yesterday...suffice
it to say with all that's gone on this year, this holiday season far outranks
the other 49 I've been around for.

Same to you and everyone else here. It will actually get cold here in my part
of Texas....what a shock! Yesterday in the mid 70's and tonight with the wind,
it's supposed to feel like 9 degrees! My horses will all be rather nutty!

It's down here, by now -- the wind swung around to 320° (i.e., almost straight
northwest) about an hour ago, the temp's dropped seven degrees (F) in that
time, and the winds are starting to get a bit blustery. (Are you letting your
horses read this newsgroup? ;-)

Not a chance but my husband does glance at some of the posts from time to time
and just shakes his head! :-) It is COLD here! (by Texas standards that is).
I even pulled out horse blankets tonight and I never do that; it just doesn't
get cold enough to warrant them, but I knew I wouldn't sleep well unless I knew
they were warm----everyone got plenty of extra hay and are all out of the wind.
It was ok today if you were moving around, if you were still, then you pretty
much froze! :-)

We were out in it earlier this evening, and it's pretty much as you describe
-- and we're close to ten degrees *warmer* than you are, 90 miles away. (Just
think, we're looking at mid-20s tonight, and down to 20 tomorrow night. Add
sleet and maybe snow, and all of a sudden Corpus Christi looks a lot more
appealing for the moment. :-)

Last night the wind howled, felt like I was in Chicago rather than Texas!
Temps here say 26 right now. We won't get any of the wintry mix you all will,
at least according to the weather channel. Yes, I can even say Corpus looks
rather appealing right now! :-) Stay warm!

Well, there's at least one silver lining to this particular dark cloud -- it's
definitely hockey weather at the right time, with a game tonight. Other than
that, Tulsa might be a better place -- it's colder up there, but dry...

Thank you, Craig. My best to you as well. As of 1 pm, EST,
we'll be on our way to Toronto, Ontario,...
One of my favorite cities! I remember the first time I saw it, in
1950, as a 9-year-old. Spent a week there for a denominational
convention. We PKs and the other kids of the delegates had
special programs all week, including a picnic one day out on
Toronto Island. I was particularly fascinated by the trolley cars
(pretty much nonexistent in NY State), and the exotic-seeming
street names, such as Yonge and Bloor.
And all that only 250 miles away from my home town of 3,000
in the Mohawk Valley. It seemed like another world!
...to vist our South African family (and more of the family

Super!!! Have a wonderful time!

I think you mean to say depending on whether they're Jewish, period.
Jews for the most part consider anything which even remotely smacks of
Christmas or Christianity a slap in the face. Even a tiny cross, a
cross representative of the Early Mission influence in California, on
the County Seal of Los Angeles was too much for the ACLU to bear.
Yep, that has to go, but the Roman Goddess of Pomona which takes up the
entire center of the Seal from top to bottom - hey, that's just peachy
keen! Without her, we must presume, California would have never
existed.

What about women faced with unwanted or medically impaired pregnancies? Do
you wish them good will too, neocon wingnut?

I wish them more than any one else good will. Jews, more than any other
group in the past 80 years, should know the horrors of genocide. You
wish some people like those you label "neocon wingnuts" had spoken up
for the Jews in the 1930's. I will not allow the same thing to happen
again in silence; I will speak up for the pre-born.
