Mitt Romney ³changes his mind² on abortion |
Mitt Romney ³changes his mind² on abortion

This is just another testament to the power of the netroots and sites
like YouTube. Two days ago, YouTube user SoThisIsWashington posted a
video montage from the 1994 Massachusetts Senate debate between Mitt
Romney and Ted Kennedy. In the clip, Romney gives his candid opinion
on abortion (among other hot-button issues) and states unequivocally
that he supports Roe v. Wade and the right of a woman to choose:
Seeing this as a potential PR problem (can't upset the wingnuts),
Romney posted a video response he taped during a radio interview with
Glenn "Instapundit" Reynolds where he 'clarifies' his position:
As Darth_Cheney points out in comments, the hypocritical wingnuts who
called Kerry a "flip-flopper" back in 2004 are now saying about Mitt
that everyone has the right to "change their mind." It's pretty sad
that a sensible conservative like Romney has to veer way rightward in
order to salvage any presidential hopes. Hearing him boast about his
"conservative" credentials to someone like Glenn Reynolds is enough
to make any moderate sick.
