instead of helping black people in our own country.

Katrina has become, like 9/11 before it, just another lever
Republicans are using to ratchet forward their long-term agenda.
Let's see: tax cuts for the rich plus a callous (and idiotic)
approach to prioritizing federal spending led to cuts in social
spending and infrastructure repair, which led to an underfunded
and politically gelded FEMA, which led to massive grief in New
Orleans. The GOP solution: keep the existing tax cuts for the
rich, eliminate the estate tax, and make even *more* cuts in
social spending.
And people criticize the French "rabble" for turning to the
guillotine...
