Okay, let's have some discussion from Pro-Life Bush-bashers, shall we? :) |
I dunno about everyone else, but I'm a pretty ardent Pro-Lifer. Also,
however, I've noticed that I share a lot of the same opinions about
our old Commander-in-Chief that the Pro-Choice league presents. As a
recent vet (I received my honorable discharge from the Jarhead Corps
in Sept of '03), I feel that mostly, Bushie-boy is just doing what
daddy tells him to and going after the 'bad ol' Iraqi men' regardless
of whether Saddam or his late sons posed a serious or imminent threat
to our life and liberty. WMDs? Haven't seen any. I admit, I was
injured, so I missed out on visiting the big sandbox, but all I
usually hear from the many friends I've got over there is how stupid
the whole campaign is, how they're sitting around being shot at for no
particular reason, and how much they wish they'd never joined the
Corps in the first place. And, btw, the subject doesn't mean you
gotta stay away from my topic if you're Pro-Choice, it just expresses
my honest wonder that so many of my fellow Pro-Life peeps feel the
need to back this family wholesale butcher. The office of the
presidency is supposed to be a noble station that runs according to
the will of the people. Bush operates according to his own will. Ray
Fischer, if you read this, I want you to know that your stance on
abortion makes my head hurt... Your stance on the presidency,
however, is as admirable as they come... I think we should toss out
Bush and Kerry and just try to get Ralph Nader back on the ballot...
*Wobbles away, head spinning from thinking about the stupidity of it
all*

Actually, by the accounts I've read, Bush the Elder wasn't crazy at all
about this little show of stupidity on Shrub's part:

When Bush 1 is giving his own award to Ted Kennedy, you know he's pissed.

I see what you mean... I'm still not totally convinced that he wasn't
just propogandizing himself out of a bad situation once he realized
that sentiment was against the war in Iraq, but hey.. it's possible.
I do, however, still think a lot of the Micro-Mini-Tree's anti-Iraq
sentiment came from his father, if only from Sr.'s first foray into
Iraqi territory. Oh, and the Shrub comment was good... that kept me
laughing for a few...

Why? It's a conservative position. The government has no business
inserting itself into women's bodies by telling them what they MUST
do with their bodies.

Neocons are not true conservatives. They are in favor of a big,
expensive, and intrusive government.

It occurs to me that I never so much as mentioned being a die-hard
conservative anywhere in the document, and if you're basing all of
your life decisions on some political movement or definition as
opposed to your own instincts and values, isn't that sort of like
being mind-controlled? Who cares about the conservative standpoint?
I care about the LIFE standpoint. I don't feel that pro-choicers are
incapable of bearing or raising children, I don't go around calling
ANYONE a baby-killer or a heathen or anything of the sort, I simply
feel that it's instinctually and morally wrong to take any form of
life that isn't going to feed you or your offspring.

I've seen that claim many times.
Every single time it's been a lie.

Fine. Then a woman gets to remove the fetus from within HER body and
keeping it alive can then become your problem. It it then dies then
you can go to prison.

Oooooookay, so you're saying that everyone you've ever met is
pro-abortion? Or pro-death? or.... what?

Your overwhelming logical reasoning has now astounded me. w00t.

No.

Either selfish or selfish and dishonest.

Much as a gibbon would be astounded by a simple lighter.
