once a liar, always a liar. |
³I can say with certainty that the Quds Force, a part of the Iranian
government, has provided these sophisticated I.E.D.¹s that have
harmed our troops.²
--Bush, today, at his press conference
"The danger to our country is grave and it is growing. The Iraqi
regime possesses biological and chemical weapons, is rebuilding the
facilities to make more and, according to the British government,
could launch a biological or chemical attack in as little as 45
minutes after the order is given. The regime has long-standing and
continuing ties to terrorist groups, and there are al Qaeda
terrorists inside Iraq. This regime is seeking a nuclear bomb, and
with fissile material could build one within a year."
--Bush radio address, September 28, 2002

No, when you ignore somebody's post it means you don't care. When you

You don't seem capable of addressing the actual point under discussion.
The issue isn't what is going on in Iraq but whether or not the US could
invade Iran without first dealing with Iraq. It really cannot.

What does that make you? If Bush was wrong about 2002 and Iraq's
WMDs
doesn't make him wrong about 2007 and Iran's IEDs. Your claim
that it
does is, well, it's a lie.
I think, and I hope, that this time our government is patient and
takes the
time to get all the facts straight.
Wow! I can't believe I am agreeing with you.
If Iran is in fact supplying the insurgents, then I think strong
diplomatic
steps should be taken and Iran should have heavy sanctions put in
place.
If Iran is guilty of the charges Bush leveled, a tight trade embargo
against Iran needs to be put in place ASAP.
Liberals are so naive. Sanctions don't work. First of all, unless you
get the Russians and the Chinese and the Europeans on board, it's
basically the US making its trade deficit worse. Secondly, consider how
Iran has plenty of something called oil that it can use to get around
any sanctions even if everyone claims to be on board. Third, the US and
others have already caught Iran supplying arms to terrorists, granted
that was just to kill Jews and counting that as "real" terrorism seems
a
bit of a stretch for some around here on the left.-
One thing I'm not is a liberal. That's a bad word.
What do you suggest? I don't think we should try to go to war with
Iran, I think it would be a disaster.
Going to war with Iran right now isn't really an option. It seems like a
lot of people can't remember even ten years ago. Sanctions have been
tried. They might work on a country like North Korea if you can keep
China on board due to the location of North Korea and the fact they've

Other than South Africa, show we where sanctions have really worked. The
trouble is Liberals complain about sanctions when they are in place
since sanctions generally hurt the population more than the regime,
Saddam claimed 150K dead Iraqis a year from them. But then when someone
threatens to use force, Liberals complain about that and then talk about
how we need to use sanctions. Well, you get China on board, and Russia
too. So far both seem more interested in trading with Iran than dealing
with these problems seriously.
What worries me is China is building up their military and that test they
did with destroying their own satellite.
What is China supposed to do with that military, invade the United
States? Is this Red Dawn, The Tone Language?
