once a liar, always a liar. |
³I can say with certainty that the Quds Force, a part of the Iranian
government, has provided these sophisticated I.E.D.ıs that have
harmed our troops.²
--Bush, today, at his press conference
"The danger to our country is grave and it is growing. The Iraqi
regime possesses biological and chemical weapons, is rebuilding the
facilities to make more and, according to the British government,
could launch a biological or chemical attack in as little as 45
minutes after the order is given. The regime has long-standing and
continuing ties to terrorist groups, and there are al Qaeda
terrorists inside Iraq. This regime is seeking a nuclear bomb, and
with fissile material could build one within a year."
--Bush radio address, September 28, 2002

does is, well, it's a lie.

I'm not interested in lying, if only because it's not interesting to
cheat in a discussion. Of course it's all about what you bring to the
table, isn't it?
Whether or not WMDs were in Iraq
"Whether or not WMDs were in Iraq?"
isn't that beneath even you?
If any readers wonder what lying means in the context of a usenet
discussion, you've just given a good example. You cut what I wrote to
change the meaning. Here it is again complete:
#begin quote requote cut ME
Some people like to lie. Whether or not WMDs were in Iraq has nothing to
do with whether or not Iran is supplying arms to insurgents in Iraq.
Nothing.
#end quote
The meaning of what I wrote is obvious and you know it wasn't a
statement about WMDs being or not being in Iraq but was about a
connection between one hypothetical and another. You knew that yet you
cut to change the meaning. That's the sort of thing that is a lie. And
no, I don't think that's beneath you at all, it's about par for your
course.

It's GOT to be multi-national too. We cant' just keep going things
alone, or with just England and/or Australia. Don't get me wrong,
they are our strongest allies and we should always remember that;
however, this time we are delaing with a serious mad man who in my
opinion, would use nukes. I don't think he would hesitate to use
them, and I don't think he cares what happens to him or his nation.
Bush needs to think about the damage that has been done with our
relationship with other nations, we got to work on repairing the
damage and work together.
I'm watching Bush carefully right now with his behavior with our new
congress. Most of congress is saying, be patient and lets get the
facts straight.
Yes, we are going to have a few use this opportunity for their

Liberals are so naive. Sanctions don't work. First of all, unless you
get the Russians and the Chinese and the Europeans on board, it's
basically the US making its trade deficit worse. Secondly, consider how
Iran has plenty of something called oil that it can use to get around
any sanctions even if everyone claims to be on board. Third, the US and
others have already caught Iran supplying arms to terrorists, granted
that was just to kill Jews and counting that as "real" terrorism seems a
bit of a stretch for some around here on the left.

--Bush radio address, September 28, 2002
once a liar, always a liar.
What does that make you? If Bush was wrong about 2002 and Iraq's WMDs
doesn't make him wrong about 2007 and Iran's IEDs. Your claim that it
does is, well, it's a lie.
I think, and I hope, that this time our government is patient and takes
the
time to get all the facts straight.
Wow! I can't believe I am agreeing with you.
If Iran is in fact supplying the insurgents, then I think strong
diplomatic
steps should be taken and Iran should have heavy sanctions put in place.
If Iran is guilty of the charges Bush leveled, a tight trade embargo
against Iran needs to be put in place ASAP.
Third, the US and
others have already caught Iran supplying arms to terrorists, granted
that was just to kill Jews and counting that as "real" terrorism seems a
bit of a stretch for some around here on the left.-
One thing I'm not is a liberal. That's a bad word.
Mommy going to wash your mouth out with soap?
What you donıt get is you have been labeled by another Right Winger.
You donıt agree with him so you are now a ³liberal.² He is YOU to a
large extent. He is Right Wing, very brave with the lives of others,
and ignorant. He is also a bigot. Feel dirty yet?
What do you suggest? I don't think we should try to go to war with
Iran, I think it would be a disaster.
Not like with Iraq.

Going to war with Iran right now isn't really an option. It seems like a
lot of people can't remember even ten years ago. Sanctions have been
tried. They might work on a country like North Korea if you can keep
China on board due to the location of North Korea and the fact they've
got nothing they can sell except for missiles which might be monitored
more easily than crude oil, which Iran can sell to a number of states
surrounding it and out through the gulf.

Oh? Was that before or after you retreated?

I absolutely agree, keeping China on board is essential.
What worries me is China is building up their military and
