On Friday, Judge Harlan R. Bochman of Adams County District Court
sentenced the now 29-year-old Angela Vasquez to one year in the Adams
County Jail on work release on charges of sexual assault on a child.
The sentence was part of a plea deal reached between the Adams County
district attorney's office and Vasquez's attorney, Harvey Steinberg.

[victim's mother] ended her statement: "Angela used my friendship, her
relationship with God and the church to destroy my son's life."
According to her arrest affidavit, Vasquez met the boy and his family
at the Life House Church in Henderson. The two families became friends
and often had dinner together
