osprey's dilemna |
a few days ago, someone commented that osprey (robert heishman) was
being ganged up on.
several folks replied that heishman was not being ganged up on so
much as that many of the people heishman had posted malicious lies
about were confronting heishman on his lies. it is an ugly situation
that takes away from the newsgroup. i am a big contributor to that
since i comment on heishman's lies often, several times daily many
days. mind you, i don't comment on all of his lies. i don't think any
single human being could do that.
the current status is that many people comment frequently on
heishman's more malicious lies; some even comment on heishman's
meaningless lies.
what should heishman do?
imagine for a moment that heishman actually posts a sincere apology
for one of his lies. (i don't mean the kind of ugly, flame-filled
apologies that he has posted once or twice, but a sincere apology.)
in this hypothetical scenario, heishman apologizes for a lie.
what happens?
many regulars will simply start bashing him for a different lie.
let's say he apologizes for that lie too.
then what happens.
the same thing happens.! many regulars will simply start bashing him
for yet a different lie.
the cycle will repeat itself, over and over. heishman probably
figured this out.
what can he do?
of course, at some point, continuing to bash him for his old lies
will become meaningless and it will stop, unless, of course, he keeps
posting new lies.

allegedly received from the new york times.
i wonder if his forgery of such email represents the ethical profile
of the delaware department of corrections whose resources he has
abused in the past when he lied and libeled others in the pursuit of
his personal vendettas.

i think he is damaging himself ons several levels: the most important
of these is in his clerk's job with the delaware department of
corrections which can't be pleased at the type of notoriety heishman
has brought them. of course, anyone with the ethical failures
heishman has displayed in newsgroups probably can't shut that down at
home. so life there must be a hell for him. here, in newsgroups, i
doubt that he can hurt himself since he is already held in the lowest
regard.
