House Majority Leader Tom DeLay (R-Texas) said today's final
passage of the bill to ban the partial-birth abortion procedure
is a "victory for humanity" despite the limited nature of the law.
"Banning this cruel procedure will be a victory, to be sure, but a
victory for humanity, not just one side in this debate," DeLay said.
"This is a limited bill. When this becomes law, abortion will stay
legal, its practitioners will remain in business, and heaven will
still be crowded with America's invisible orphans."
"After a generation of bitter rhetoric, the American people have
turned away from the divisive politics of abortion and embraced
the inclusive politics of life. They have recoiled at the barbarism
of partial-birth abortion and decided it has no place in a moral
society. They have called on us to answer the muted cries of
the innocent."
Congress has passed the ban on partial-birth abortion several
times over the last few years only to have it vetoed twice by
the previous president. President Bush will quickly sign the
bill passed today into law. The House passed the ban by an
overwhelming, bipartisan vote of 281-142. It is expected to be
passed in the Senate by wide margins as well.

Given that it doesn't describe any abortion procedure actually in use,
it's rather like banning oil-fired power stations after all the oil has
been used up!

ROTFL!!!!!! That's okay. Laugh it up. Because that's what MOST
Americans are going to be doing at YOUR loathesome and bigoted ilk when
the Supreme Court chucks that unconstitutional and absurd law right into
the ash can with all those similar state laws... where it belongs.
LOL!!!!!!
