Poll: Huge Support for Ann Coulter
Ann Coulter's new book "Godless: The Church of Liberalism" has created a
storm of controversy, but an online poll sponsored by NewsMax.com reveals
that Americans overwhelmingly support Coulter and strongly disagree with her
critics.
In the book - which shot to the top of Amazon.com's list of best sellers the
day after it was published and has debuted at the No. 1 spot on The New York
Times nonfiction list - Coulter criticizes four New Jersey widows who pushed
for an independent commission to investigate the 9/11 attacks that killed
their husbands, and backed Democrat John Kerry for president in 2004.
"These broads are millionaires, lionized on TV and in articles about them,
reveling in their status as celebrities and stalked by grief-arazzis,"
Coulter wrote.
Hillary Clinton immediately lashed out at Coulter for what she called her
"vicious, mean-spirited attack" on the widows and said the book should have
been called "heartless."
House Democrats from New York and Long Island signed a letter demanding an
apology from Coulter, and two New Jersey Democrats sought to have the book
banned in that state.
NBC's Matt Lauer also went on the attack against Coulter when she appeared
on the "Today" show, and The New York Times said her book is "in need of
flogging."
But the NewsMax poll - which drew more than 90,000 respondents from sites
across the Web, such as Drudge Report and The New York Times - shows that
the establishment assault on Coulter and her book did not change many minds.
The huge majority of respondents to NewsMax's poll - more than eight out of
10 surveyed - believe Coulter was right in criticizing the four 9/11 widows
from New Jersey.
And the tens of thousands of respondents overwhelmingly agree that media
coverage of Coulter and her book has been unfair.
NewsMax will provide the results of this poll to major media and share them
with radio talk-show hosts across the country.
Here are the poll questions and results:
1) Was Ann Coulter wrong in criticizing four 9/11 widows known as the
"Jersey Girls"?
Wrong: 15 percent
Not wrong: 85 percent
2) What is your opinion of Ann Coulter?
Favorable: 87 percent Unfavorable: 13 percent
3) Do you agree with Hillary Clinton that Ann's book is "vicious" and
"heartless"?
Yes, agree: 13 percent
No, don't agree: 87 percent
4) Has the media coverage of Ann Coulter and her book been fair?
Fair: 18 percent
Not fair: 82 percent
5) Of the three, who would you trust for news and information?
Katie Couric: 10 percent

She's gotten extraordinarily rich bilking the lesser-wealthy,
lesser-accomlished, lesser-intelligent by selling them what they want to
hear. That's not pathetic.
If you write a centrist book, it might sell but it won't draw much attention
to itself and the reaction will be lukewarm unless you create
something -really- profound. If you write an extremist book you'll get fans
you might not want and you'll get attention, but the mainstream won't take
you seriously. If you find the balance such that you can stay in the media
spotlight and still convince millions of people you know what you're talking
about (because you're telling them what they already think, and all you need
for material is just to listen to them) you can be a highly successful
writer.
It's practically a formula. All you need is an editor, a publisher and a
lack of intellectual integrity.

The point that I'm getting to is that Ann Coulter isn't really "lying".
It is just that she finds the argument against the evolutionary claims
about the pepper moth more convincing than those arguments presented for
those claims. She may be wrong but that doesn't make her a liar.
As to Wells and his statements...I have no idea if Coulter refers to
him or not. My point was simply that it is possible that he or someone
else with similiar views may have been a source for her ideas and that
those who seem to be saying that Ann is not only lying but that she is
making it up are, themselves, lying because there do appear to be real,
seperate sources that she may have used, without having to resort to
making it up herself.

At best, it makes her irresponsible, for any amount of real research would
have allowed her to come to the correct conclusion. That is, assuming she

It is just that she finds the argument against the evolutionary
claims
about the pepper moth more convincing than those arguments presented
for those claims. She may be wrong but that doesn't make her a liar.
As to Wells and his statements...I have no idea if Coulter refers
to
him or not. My point was simply that it is possible that he or
someone else with similiar views may have been a source for her ideas
and that those who seem to be saying that Ann is not only lying but
that she is making it up are, themselves, lying because there do
appear to be real, seperate sources that she may have used, without
having to resort to making it up herself.

The point that I'm getting to is that Ann Coulter isn't really "lying".
She's lying and she knows it. So are the people she consulted on her
lies, people like Michael Behe, who was recently taken down in court in
Dover Pa. and William Dembski who is regularly taken down over at
www.pandasthumb.org.
Even a pretence at research would have shown her what huge lies she was
telling about the Theory of Evolution. So if she isn't lying, she's a
monumental fraud and idiot. Which is it?

Yes they do, but creationists lie about that to convince gullible
fools that Kettlewell's studies (among others) are invalid.
Perhaps you weren't aware that over 30 other independent studies have
been undertaken, and all confirm Kettlewell's results.
Don't trust people like Wells, Gish, Hovind et.al. They're liars with
an agenda. They're peddling the myth of creationism, and they'll say
anything they think is necessary to get you to believe them.
