Object: Pro-Abortion Lawmaker Manipulated Records of Abstinence Education
No matter how those who oppose abstinence education try to manipulate the
results of various studies, common sense will *always* dictate that morality
and decency will 'win the day'. There is not one good reason to oppose
abstinence, or the attempts to teach our children dignity and self respect.

LifeNews.com Note: The Abstinence Clearinghouse is a non-profit national
educational organization that promotes the appreciation for and practice of
sexual abstinence through distribution of age-appropriate, factual and
medically accurate materials.
On October 27th, the Committee on Government Reform released an official
review finding Democratic Rep. Henry Waxman's December 2004 report, The
Content of Federally Funded Abstinence-Only Education Program, a misleading
and inaccurate description of abstinence until marriage programs.
The new report, Abstinence and Its Critics, released by Rep. Mark Souder,
rectifies the misinformation widely disseminated by the mainstream media and
clearly shows that abstinence programs are effective. The report further
indicates "the value of abstinence for young people cannot be overestimated,
and it is the duty of Congress to support programs that serve the interest
of America's youth."
Prepared as a minority report without the endorsement of the full committee,
the Waxman Report fails to include a fair evaluation of abstinence until
marriage curricula. It also precludes any review of so called
"comprehensive" sex education and seems to imply that these programs are the
only worthy recipient of funding. Indeed, such programs already have a
disproportionate funding edge despite their dangerous message and
questionable results.
In addition, "comprehensive" sex education programs often involve
inappropriate graphics, descriptions of sexual acts, and suggestive
information that contradicts parents' approval and therefore needs further
scrutiny.
"We've known all along that the Waxman Report contains serious flaws that
discredit its authority," stated Charlee Voorhees, Director of Government
Affairs for the Abstinence Clearinghouse.
"The data indicates that abstinence education works. It provides an
effective deterrent to teen pregnancy and STDs while protecting the
emotional well-being of America's youth. We are glad to see that Congress
takes abstinence education seriously and continues to lend support to
abstinence programs."

No matter how those who oppose abstinence education try to manipulate the
results of various studies,

This, from the loon that regularly trolls with tripe from discredited
wingnut Paul Cameron.
You're hell on irony meters, IBen.

common sense will *always* dictate that morality and decency will 'win the
day'.

Which is why your incessant displays of indecency and immorality have earned
you universal scorn.

There is not one good reason to oppose abstinence,

Except that it rarely works.
In fact, it often produces unfavorable results.
The kind of results that you-and so many of those old men in pointy hats and
fancy dresses that you admire so- display, IBenMolestingChildren.

or the attempts to teach our children dignity and self respect.

Pity no one ever taught you those concepts.
Raised by a 'lapcat', were you?
LC~ Another weekend with nothing to do but troll for pathetic "J".

What are you waiting thento be come moral and decent? Oh, that's right,
you don't know what these words mean.
There is not one good reason to oppose

abstinence,

Oh yes: it doesn't fucking work, moron!

or the attempts to teach our children dignity and self respect.

Since when is sexuality opposed to dignity and self respect?
Please enlighten us (but we know you're too hypocrite to answer): why
do countries with a more open-minded approach to sexuality (shall we
say, less repressed...) have a much lower abortion-rate, teenage
pregnancy-rate then these states with such a program as "abstinence
program"? Since when ignorance is the answer?
Why do you oppose abortion but don't want to do the right thing to
avoid it?
Why are you such a hypocrite moron, J Young?

Indeed. I take my morality from the Holy Bible, just like you.
I especially like THIS passage:
Luke 14:26 -- "If any [man] come to me, and hate not his father, and
mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his
own life also, he cannot be my disciple."
Hate = good. Now I see where you're coming from.

The famous 'common sense' approach, used when there are no facts to
support you.

will *always* dictate that morality
and decency

will 'win the day'. There is not one good reason to oppose
abstinence, or the attempts to teach our children dignity and self respect.
