Clearwater, FL (LifeNews.com) -- Pro-life advocates have
been closely following the light of Terri Schiavo, the
disabled woman at the center of a national euthanasia
controversy.
They were delighted at yesterday's news that a local
judge had extended a stay preventing the removal of her
feeding tube until additional legal questions can be
examined.
"Thankfully, [Judge George Greer] has today seen fit to
give [Terri] more time to live and her parents more time
to defend her right to life," Focus on the Family founder
Dr. James Dobson said.
"The courts, including Judge Greer's, have no moral
authority to cause a vulnerable, disabled person like
Mrs. Schiavo to die due to dehydration -- which will be
the result if her feeding tube is removed," Dobson added.
"Today a crisis has been averted, but only for 48 hours.
Florida Gov. Jeb Bush is to be applauded for his promise
to defend Mrs. Schiavo's life," Dobson said. "We pray
that he, and those who stand with him, will be
successful."

I think it the taxpayers were to have to keep every severly (unable to
recover)brain injured person alive for years, they would soon drop
those wants. My husband was in a coma for two weeks. The doctors said
he would be no more than a vegetable. I didn't listen to him of course
and watched him come out of his coma. Of course his brain stem was not
damaged but his body was severly injured along with part of his frontal
lobe and the left side of his head. The blow to his head was so severe
his brain hit the inside of his skull on the right side, that caused
even more damage. I adore my husband and though he was a totaly
different person, he rememberd ME and only me. As years passed he
remembered his daughters, homes and friends. Let me tell you it was
hell taking care of him and still is a bit difficult. His speech is
still somewhat impaired. Brain injuries from accidents today are on the
rise but the doctors have still a lot to learn about the brain. Terri's
parents don't want to let her go but had that happened to my beloved
husband, I would have let him go because he requested the same thing
that Terri did. We both now nave living wills and in Terri's day, no
one ever thought of them.

who suffers most: the patient who can't cope with his or her pain but is
apparently forced to live, or the relatively healthy serial killer imprisoned

Your husband's and your experience begs a screenplay. I would have
asked you privately by personal e-mail, but this first request has
