For the record: antisemitic always meant anti-Jewish and nothing else.
The word itself was coined in 19th century by a, well, antisemite named
Adolf Stoecker (spelling may be wrong). "Jew-hater" was familiar and
boring, "anti-Semite" was a novel word and sounded almost like
"Semitic scholar".
Actually, it was Wilhelm Marr, and he used the word because jews were
the only semites in 19th century Germany. The jews have embraced the
word and elevated it to a degree previously unseen. A whole brand of
racism devoted entirely to jews! Such a marketing already!
