The Lutheran Family center is sponsoring 2000 Bantu refugees
into our small city. These people are illiterate, can't read or write
even their own language; they are right out of the stone age.
Lived in mud and stick huts. They have never seen a commode
flush, running water, no electricity, never ridden in a motorized
vehicle. But this isn't all there are others coming, don't know how
many and will be placed in as many as 50 US communities.
When they arrive they will need shelter, food and clothing.
They will be given food stamps, free medical care and some
living assistance by the US State Department. But we are not
set up for this. They will overwhelm our education system and
Social services.
My wife is a dedicated Christian and she thinks it's her duty to
help these people. She wants to cart a family around ie to the
doctor, school and carry them to their Mosque, (moslems)
teach them English, I'm strongly opposed to becoming
involved in any way.
What does anyone you think?

For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you
gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; naked,
and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you
came to Me.'
"Then the righteous will answer Him, `Lord, when did we see You hungry, and
feed You, or thirsty, and give You something to drink? `And when did we see
You a stranger, and invite You in, or naked, and clothe You? `When did we
see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?' "The King will answer and say
to them, `Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these
brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.'

On Tue, 29 Jul 2003 16:30:10 -0400, a wanderer, known to us only as
"J.D. Wolfe" <lobo@better.choice.com> warmed at our fire and told
this tale:
There is no possible way cannibals can contribute to my life style!
The Bantu are not cannibals, moron. They raise cattle for food. And
if you've never had East African cuisine, you're really missing out.
Of course, being a bigoted mopron, you probably don't have the heart
to try something new.

That's fine if you can afford the time and finances.
You have more than they do. Give half what your family has to one of
those families... then you will all have what you *need*!
I see no reason and I have no inclinations to give _anything_ to
these people! Nor do I want them in my community.
So be known as a selfish bigot!
Hey Pat how much are you kicking in? It's easy to be sanctimonious hypocrite
when it won't cost you one thin dime or affect your neighborhood

I was in grade school when the Santa Clara valley was flooded by
Vietnamese refugees. All fo a sudden we had kids in our class who
looked funny, talked funny, and ate funny foods. At first these was a
wary silence.. but then we dicovered common ground and became friends.
We taught them about pizza and baseball, and they taught us about
their culture. We all came out for the better.
What I find really funny about this is you change "Bantu" to "Irish",
set the clock back to the 1850s and you have the exact same lies told
by bigots about the immigrants of that day.

Jay
from Matthew 25
For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you
gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in;
naked,
and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and
you
came to Me.'
Can you show me where these good deeds intersect with the Kuran? I t seems
to me that these folks will fed, clothed made well and then they will kill
all none Muslems, because that is what the Koran tells them to do.
