Yes it does depend upon the premise. But if I didn't think that the

unborn

were human beings/persons I wouldn't be having this discussion in the

first

place.

But other people don't believe that embryos are human beings/persons.
Millions of educated, knowledgeable, decent, ethical people have thought
sincerely about the question and come to a different conclusion than you
have. That being the case, we simply have to agree to disagree. That's why
you can't compare abortion to child murder, which is something 99.999% of
people agree is not acceptable under any circumstances. (Not excepting, by
the way, to save the lives of parents.)

I think there is an obligation to support on the basis that we shouldn't
take a humans life when there are other possible alternatives.

Again, a conclusion millions have reached and with which other millions
disagree. No consensus means we all get to make up our own minds and act
accordingly.

Of course. But it does "broaden the mind" to listen to why others think as
they do. Having said that I think there is an essentially impassable divide
between the "prolife" and "prochoice" camps based on assumptions made about
the status of the unborn and pregnancy. The only way to cross that divide
is to change one's mind about that status. And who likes to admit that they
are wrong? There are few "converts" ....

It is difficult to change opinions and convert when your questions are
answered with obvious lies -- such as 'birth is merely a change of
location.' Even more difficuilt when those who are claiming that the
unborn child is a human being from birth do not act like they believe
their own claim. I point out that Pro-Lifers toss their dead and/or
dying 'children' into the trash -- and simply get mocked.
