Now hear, dear anti-spankers, spanking is DISCIPLINE, not abuse, and
it often works when NOTHING ELSE WILL. Not your precious "time-outs",
not your "go to your rooms" (given what most kid's rooms are like
these days, this is hardly punishment. Send 'em to YOUR room maybe),
and not the veiled threats that you have no intention of carrying out
(if I see one more parent say to one more kid in a store "All right,
if you don't hurry up, I'm leaving you here", I think I'll spit. The
kid KNOWS better!). Some kids are just too out-of-control,
strong-willed, and just plain stubborn for anything but a level of
discipline that will get the message across one way or another that
their behavior is unacceptable and will NOT be tolerated.
