True, true... But you specifically cited monogamous RELATIONSHIPS,
which means, quite literally, that neither partner is cheating on the
other. I believe what you MEANT is a COMPLETELY MONOGAMOUS LIFESPAN,
meaning that each person involved has only had sex with the other
person in THAT SPECIFIC RELATIONSHIP. Hey, even there, tho, one can
catch an STD if either person is carrying one from a parent...

Not entirely true. I mean very few people are monogamous, to the same
person, their entire lives. HIV, for example, can take years before the
person manifests symptoms though. A person could be in a monogamous
relationship for 10 years before realizing they are infected.

Well, in that sense, yes, although that really still doesn't falsify
to any significant degree my original statement, that monogamy doesn't
*spread* STDs, promiscuity does. In the situation you're talking
about, a disease is "spread" only to one other person & stops there.
And even if each of the partners has been involved in previous
relationships, if both of them still remained monogamous in each
relationship, & were only engaged in, say, at the most 3 such
relationships over their entire lives, the incidence of "spreading" of
STDs by such people would still be remarkably low. It would still be
OTHER people, who are far more promiscuous than this, who would be the
primary contributors to the spreading of such diseases.
This statement is still almost entirely correct, with the extremely
limited exceptions being hardly worth discussing:
Monogamy does not spread STDs; promiscuity does.

Actuall, medical fact froma recent textbook - approximately 75% of
americans have oral herpes - type 1 I believe it is called. We usually
get it from our parents when they give us a good morning kiss after
waking us up to go school.
