Re: Jesus loves you |
He had no difficulty, we are under a New Covenant, and not under thhe
one of the Old one, from which you had taken your text. Abiding by the
New Covenant, God is highly unlikely to order the killing of a child
(I am of the old school though, an unborn, isn't a child)

You are smart enough to know that you did not answer
the question, and you should be smart enough to know
that everybody sees through your dodge.
That situation does come up quite often in the Bible.
Abraham was told to kill his own son (Genesis 22:2,)
the Jews were told to kill every boy among the
Midianites (Numbers 31:17,) and they were told to kill
everything which breathes among the Canaanites
(Deuteronomy 20:17.)
So let me put the question this way: If you were among the
Israelites at the time of Deuteronomy 20, would you kill
everything which breathes? That would include infants.
As to my own answer to the question: Of course I
would have refused. I believe that it was selfish of
Abraham to place his own life above that of his son.
The sacrifice of Isaac was a type of the sacrifice of the
Son of God. Notice that Abraham did not have to sacrifice
his son, only to go through the experience of knowing what
it was like to do that. I was not born under the law of
Moses so it is unprofitable for me to speculate about it. I
was born under the law of Christ, which did away with
the need for all blood scarifices, including the one you and
your pro-abortion friends are perpetrating today.
Robert B. Winn
You are giving out mixed signals. Abraham was willing to kill
his own son, and that's ok with you. I pointed out passages in
which the Israelites were told to kill children, and you see
nothing wrong. Yet when asked what you would do if God told you
to kill a child, you have difficulty answering.

I have only just signed to this board and I am absolutely amazed at
this character- Robert Winn. I look forward greatly to being able to
laugh at his total lack of logical ability. You'll all be hearing more
from me- oh yes you will.
