It would be churlish not to congratulate the Rev on his success in finally
demolishing alt.gossip.royalty. I'm sure that he would be the first to
agree that he was building on the foundations I laid there - you will recall
a time, years ago, when any poster daring to offend the, then, rulers of
agr, was subject an immediate flood of complaints to his or her (in the case
of the dying Patricia) ISP.

If I had a five pound note for every ISP that war cost me I'd be very jolly
indeed - but, no matter, I do claim the credit for a three year battle that
finally resulted in people being free to post whatever tripe they saw fit.

None of which detracts from the Rev's accomplishment (one that I never
finally achieved) in totally destroying that newsgroup. He employed tactics
that I didn't - but such is the nature of warfare, the most savage combatant
