Not bad for a few days! Why don't we fill up that board and get a
ballot going while there's still plenty of momentum behind the project.
:-)
The nominations page has all of the current, up-to-date info.
http://www.petitmorte.net/sean/chess
We[tinw] still need nominations for the following chess pieces/pawns -
This may be a trifle bold of me, considering my choices haven't even won any
awards, yet, but I feel that may only be an oversight. At any rate, none of
them are guaranteed a spot on the ballot...
Blue Queen's Knight [1 nominee needed]
John Shocked, for his sterling defence of American science fiction,
especially Battlestar Galactica, from the ominous and ever-present threat
of "Hollywood Homosexuals Neo-Conservatives", together with Organised
Crime, libertarians, the ACLU, and Rick Berman, and their agenda to sell
your children on "Sodomy", gambling, drugs, prostitution, and smoking,
through the use of subliminal messages.
Red King's Bishop [1 nominee needed]
Max Varazslo, of San Francisco, California, for five years of running
through a freakshow of multiple personalities (including, but not limited
to, Bernadette & Rufus Strange, Thurgood & Lurlean Tucker, and "Grandmother
Super-Holiness" Henrietta Hickey) on a variety of newsgroups, in the "First
Universal Christian Kingdom, God's One True Church of Holy
Assurance" (which has many additional crudely amusing acronyms, but I can't
remember all of them), which advocates circumcision for both men and women
(infants and adults), and claims to be able to "cure" homosexuality with
colonics and enemas, as well as a "Holy Pain Centre". Bill Baker has
provided much corroboration of all this to AUK for his nominations of Max
in the Sock-Puppet and 72 Raisins categories.
Red King's Bishop's Pawn [2 nominees needed]
John Wentzky, of Anderson, Anderson County, South Carolina, for his
twelve-year crusade against homosexuals and abortion -- "Gay men deserve to
die." Says it all, really -- which has included frequent all-caps outbursts
wherein he accuses all those in disagreement with him of being liars and
accomplices of the unknown infectees (Yes, *plural*) who "murdered" his
brother (who died of AIDS-related complications, back before the kookiness
began).

The Kook Kard Deck didn't have such a requirement. I believe Nancy
Lieder's Kook Kard was her first AUK award. The FNVW did not impose
such a requirement on the Chess Set when he assigned the ballot to me;
I added it to ensure a relatively high bar for nominees.
I already have made one exception; David Moore has not won any awards

relatively limited) experience -- BTW, his "Clueless Newbie of the Month"
nomination is still hanging in the air (unlike the Office of Kooki

use some additional help from any interested parties, though, as there's
some doubt as to just how "victorious" he really believes himself to be)),
needing but a second to make it solid.
Specifically, for his insistence on his own definition of "troll", as well

You would be a fourth, after David and Bill, if you mean the chess
piece nom. Otherwise, however, the Office hasn't yet been seconded (as
I thought it had), and the CNotM nom remains in the air, with fierce
competition from Nunya Bidness and FreeSpeechStore (both of whom have
demonstrated their own qualifications to an extravagant degree). The
Custer seems likely to be his, though, if further proof of his sense of
victory in the face of absurdly overwhelming evidence to the contrary
can be x-posted to AUK. I know it's there, but the idea of looking for
it makes me feel sleepy...;-{)}

I don't see you as an extreme kook. Ask yourself, do you want USENET to be

I'll second Wenztky's nomination, on behalf of the readership of

Incidentally, I don't know if you saw, but I put your name up as a possible
Official Overseer of Kooks in alt.abortion...Also, Wentzky's nominations
for KOTM & the Bartlo have not yet been seconded.

Blue King:
I second Ludwig "Archimedes Plutonium" Poehlmann, on the grounds that
he's one of the greatest kooks of all time. There were giants in those
days.
Blue King's Knight's Pawn:
I second Albert "Al is in Wonderland" Silverman, on the tenuous
grounds that a knight is a "Ritter" (rider) in German, and Erlkönig,
the song that Albert has been failing to analyse for ten years, is
about a ride on a horse.
Blue Queen's Bishop:
I move that Koos Nolst Trenité be disqualified, on the grounds that
Formosa's Rule obviously applies.
Red King's Bishop's Pawn:
I second Fraudship1, on the grounds that such a notable kook deserves
to be included even if I can't think of a reason why this particular
chess piece fits.

How is it possible to keep track of all of your koooky election by hand? You
are not the type that seeks help from either (non sock) posters or math.
