I live in a town of 20,000 or so in a rural" part of a midwestern
state. An MD friend of mine was visited by a lady and her daughter from
2 or 3 counties away -- and the MD confirmed that the daughter was
pregnant.
The mother then asked about where an abortion could be procured.
The mother was SO PROMINENT in the Anti-Choice movement that the
MD recognized her even though she was 50 miles from home.
He then questioned the contradiction between her public and her
private view of abortion.
Her answer, "My God, Doc, you don't relize THIS IS MY DAUGHTER
AND SHE'S ONLY 16. We can't let MY DAUGHTER be humiliated by an
unwanted pregnancy".

This is beautiful........may I please have your permission to post it on an AOL
forum?.........
In their book "A woman's book of choices", Carol Downer and Rebecca Chalker
devote several pages to this phenomena........
it's not as uncommon as one would think.
In fact, Sylvia Stengle (clinic owner) requires that such women sign
contracts saying they will NEVER picket her clinic again or their right to
privacy will be suspended and their abortion will be revealed............
otherwise, those same women can seek their abortions
elsewhere..........hopefully a back alley where they'd gladly send other women!
