Pope defrocks 2 pedophile Irish priests

Rome, Vatican City, Dec. 16 (UPI) -- Pope John Paul II has defrocked
two Irish priests who were convicted of child sex abuse charges, the
BBC reported Thursday.

A statement from the Dioceses of Ferns said the decision to dismiss
the unnamed priests was a supreme decision of the pope.

It is believed to be the first time the pope has directly dismissed a
priest in the Republic of Ireland this way.

The first time, eh? The RCC's only had their greasy mitts on Eire's
throat for a millennium and change, and this is the *first* time
they've disciplined any priest there in this way? This should put an
end to the myth that you've got any patent on fact.
