There you go again, even though you know the answer to the problem is
ludicrously simple:
1) Execute violent felons (why waste a dime keeping them alive?)
2) Put the convicts to work earning enough money to pay their own
keep. No work, you starve, and if a con dies ... well, that's just
some more saved money for the taxpayers.
I don't agree so much with your part about "execute", but I do agree we
should put everyone who comes into prison to work. Hell, half these people
don't know how to work We send them back out into society and they have no
skills and don't understand how to work. All they know how to do is steal
and do drugs, and they end up right back in jail.
Now, Osprey, tell us how a lazy prison clerk (solely you) is going to
help anybody to acquire *skillz*?

eat and work until 6:00 at night.
Grow their own food, make their own clothes, furniture, and provide what
ever services needed for the public.
And what do we do with rogue guards who spent all of their work time
