Spanish Bishops Liken Terrorism to Abortion, Euthanasia
Apr. 5, 2007 (CNA/CWNews.com) - The bishops of the Spanish region
of Catalonia issued a statement this week in which they equated the
"large-scale terrorist acts" of recent years and the mistreatment of
women with other "forms of violence" such as abortion and euthanasia,
which attack the inalienable right to life of every human being.
Oh, thank God you posted this, Ms. Michel'le, because until people
read the words of these Spanish bishops, they had NO IDEA how horrible
it all is.
Terrorism, that is.
I mean, to a lot of folks, the whole business of flying large aircraft
into large buildings resulting in the fiery deaths of thousands of
people didn't seem like such a big deal.
But then these Spanish bishops stepped up and said "Hey, you know
what? Terrorism is just like... ABORTION!!!" And now the horror of
it all can sink in. Before, people were thinking about terrorism in
terms of wholesale slaughter and carnage inflicted on innocent people
by religious extremists.
And now they will realize, "Wow, I didn't realize how bad suicide
bombers and beheadings were until I compared them to the removal of a
teaspoonful of insentient tissue from a woman's uterus. But now I
understand. If this terrorism thing is as bad as abortion, then it's
REALLY BAD!"
What a great public service you and these Spanish bishops have
performed. Please accept my sincere thanks.
