Barbara Findeisan, a therapist in the San Francisco area, has suggested
that women with unwanted pregnancies attempt transuterine communication
with
their unborn child and explain their position. She reports that
spontaneous
miscarriage often occurs after such communication takes place.
Psychotherapist Clara Riley Ph.D., of the University of California in
Irvine, also suggests that her clients who have a conflict about pregnancy
discuss the dilemma with the fetus.
Part of an extended dialog that one woman, Sally, had with her unborn
child
follows:
"I feel this isn't the right time for you to be there growing...I
couldn't
give you what you want...You would be miserable. You should have warmth
and
love surrounded by happiness, and I can't give that to you. I want you to
go
awaya..There is no other way. I don't want to do what I have to do
tomorrow.
Please go away on your very own...I really am sorry.
The following day Sally miscarried.
