The pharmaceutical companies hand out
warnings on those slips that come
when the prescriptions are filled.
I have yet to see abortion providers
put out similar warnings about the
risks of abortion. Maybe it's time
they were honest with their customers.
And how many times have you been for an
abortion yourself? That's is the *only*
way you can be certain what warnings
about the relative safety of abortion or
birth are given to the pregnant woman
seeking to take either course with their
pregnancy.
Of course, if you are really so concerned
about the woman's health and safety then
you would also demand that any medic
offering treatment regarding a pregnancy
should point out to the pregnant woman on
each occasion that treament is sought,
that continuing a pregnancy carries far
greater risks than routine early abortion
does.
Are you prepared to have that point
(abortion being a good deal safer than
term delivery) made to the woman every
time she attends for a pre-natal check?
If not, why not?
If it forced the abortion industry to put
in writing the dangers of abortion and
present it to every woman before she had
an abortion,
I can't speak for abortion providers in
general, but if you obtain an abortion
from a Planned Parenthood clinic or from
a Planned Parenthood approved clinic, you
will learn about the risks of abortion
prior to obtaining the abortion.
If you choose not to go through with the
abortion, you leave and thats the end of it.
If you choose to go through with the abortion,
you *sign a consent form* and take home
paperwork describing what was told to you.
Either way, you learn about the risks of
the abortion procedure from the Planned
Parenthood abortion provider.
So your claim of what is *ideal*, is
*already true*.
I would be all for doctors doing the
same for women carrying a child to
term. The doctor could give a pregnant
woman a list of the dangers from abortion
and a list of the dangers from pregnancy,
complete with statistical information.
What a wonderful idea.
Women obtaining an abortion have to go to
a specific clinic which performs abortions.
Women who get pregnant have no such
requirement. They aren't required to
*ever* go to a doctor throughout the
entire pregnancy, and some women simply
don't do so.
But requiring OB/GYNs to explain the dangers
of pregnancy to women is a wonderful idea,
complete with the statistical figures which
point out that childbirth is thirty times
more likely to harm or kill a woman than
abortion is.
Oh, right, you want *your* statistics,
not real statistics, to be used. Silly me.
