What if it was suddenly discovered that Jesus was a libral
Would christians still worship him ???

Jesus would probably have hated the Religious right and Bush
here is why ,
Bush and the GOP and religious right are pro-rich they cut taxes on the rich
they take from the poor and give to the rich , The GOP exalts the rich
did Jesus do the same ??
I don't think so, here is the evidence
In Luke 6:24 he condems the rich
Again in Matt 19:24
In Matt 19:21 he commands the rich man seeking salvation
to give all that he has to the poor
In Acts 5:1-5 and 5:8-10 St Peter punishes a man who refuses to give
everything he has to the commune the collective , the early christians were
collectivists communists.
Its clear from the above verses that Jesus did not favor the Rich
Now lets talk about ears of corn and a free lunch
Republicans and the religious right cut welfare programs , they say
no such thing as a free lunch .

Jesus said *you* help the poor. He didn't tell his disciples to enlist
government to pick pockets to succor the widow and orphan.

well in Mark 2:23 while Jesus and his disciples were passing through a corn
field
the disciples started taking ears of corn. In Mark 2:25 Jesus defends his
disciples actions, So Jesus believed in a free lunch
Note that trespassing some rightwing pro-gun christian bigot's cornfield in the
midwest and stealing ears of corn , would probably have landed Jesus in Jail
today or might have even gotten Jesus shot.

Your ignorance of the Bible astounds me. In Jesus' time, it was
traditional to set aside a portion of your crops so the poor could
come and eat it. They weren't stealing it.

How? Atheists are still trying to tell me that Hezekiah's tunnel does
not exist because it is mentioned in the Bible. They claim that the
tunnel from Gihon spring to the pool of Siloam is a hoax perpetrated
by Jerusalem tour guides. I think we would do better to wait for the

Well, if you really believed that, it would make no difference to you
if someone else believed he was coming. You would just use your
knowledge of events to your advantage. Your philosophy depends on
persuading others that Christ is not coming, which shows that you have
no belief of your own, only a system of attack designed to wear down
the believer. In other words, the person persuaded by your
persistence gains nothing from you since you have nothing to offer.
All you are capable of is attacking the faith of those who believe in
something.

You're delusional. My "philosophy" does not depend on pursuading others
that something isn't going to happen. I don't attack and I'm not looking
to wear down anyone's beliefs. How unfortunate (for you) that my stating
my belief on the matter makes you feel victimized and causes you to
question your faith.
That said: When someone, you in this instance, continues to offer your
belief as indisputable fact, I will demonstrate, should I feel the urge,
that your beliefs mean nothing... NOTHING... to anyone but you.
Your god is irrelevant to reality and his book is nothing more than an
ancient tale, rife with hatred and fear, that was created by men in an
attempt to control the ignorant. A true god would need no laws, would
need no book to convey his message, and would need no blind worship.

government to pick pockets to succor the widow and orphan.

Proof?

Your ignorance of the Bible astounds me. In Jesus' time, it was
traditional to set aside a portion of your crops so the poor could
come and eat it. They weren't stealing it.

Proof?

Leviticus 19:10 Thou shalt not glean thy vineyard, neither shalt thou
gather every grape of thy vineyard; thou shalt leave them for the poor
and stranger: I am the Lord your God.
Robert B. Winn

Proof that the Bible is factual.

How? Atheists are still trying to tell me that Hezekiah's tunnel does
not exist because it is mentioned in the Bible. They claim that the
tunnel from Gihon spring to the pool of Siloam is a hoax perpetrated
by Jerusalem tour guides. I think we would do better to wait for the
2nd coming of Christ and let Jesus Christ explain these things to the
atheists.

He isn't coming

He would be the person to tell your idea to.

It's not an idea, but a fact

You will have that opportunity when he comes the second time.

He isn't coming

Well, maybe you could communicate your directives to God and see if he
obeys you. The chances do not look good. We will know your plan was
accepted if all Gideon Bibles start disappearing from hotels.

You just don't get it, do you?

I don't get what?

jesus who? No such person existed. Perhaps you mean Joshua Bin
Joseph, the radical liberal socialist reformer who said that all rich
people are going to hell and who fed the people and cured the sick all

So if he does in fact return I suggest you get the name right because

No. I have not repositioned the goalposts for many years. In order to
prove the existence of God, many people try to quote me passages from
the Bible. In order for me to give any credence to those passages, I
need to know from an external source that they're the word of God. It
is a very reasonable request. It is not my fault no one has yet to
meet that goal.

I haven't. I came into this thread mid-stream. Even so, if you're
going to use your belief in God and the Bible as His word, than I
require proof. Without proof, this is no possible way I am going
to allow someone to reduce freedom merely on the basis of what

It is illogical to prove a negitive. However, you must also remember
that faith is defined as the abandoning of all reason. In that
respect then there is no need to prove or dfisprove.
Reality isn't the issue, in cases like this you act as you believe
things to be and things are exactly as they are. Your response to
them is in accordance to the way you judge reality.

I haven't. I came into this thread mid-stream. Even so, if you're
going to use your belief in God and the Bible as His word, than I
require proof. Without proof, this is no possible way I am going
to allow someone to reduce freedom merely on the basis of what
he or she claims.

It has already been proven to you that it was lawful for Jesus to eat from
the corn field.

Proof?

Your ignorance of the Bible astounds me. In Jesus' time, it was
traditional to set aside a portion of your crops so the poor could
come and eat it. They weren't stealing it.

Proof?

Leviticus 19:10 Thou shalt not glean thy vineyard, neither shalt
thou gather every grape of thy vineyard; thou shalt leave them for
the poor and stranger: I am the Lord your God.

Proof that the Bible is factual.

Moving the goalposts, I see.

Why have you gone from discussing whether or not Jesus was a liberal to
the existence of God?

God giveth to all men liberally and upbraideth not. James 1:5
