What about the concern that stem cells might cause cancer? The body's
normal defenses usually ignore embryonic tissue, that's why there is concern
about cancer risk. Just because they can cure a parapalegic rat doesn't
mean the technique is safe.

You are the only one I know worried about such an unlikely
possibility! What are your credentials in biology...or
anything, for that matter? I am sure that anyone dying with
certainty from
ALS, kidney disease, heart disease, spinal cord injuries,
and many other debilitating diseases such as diabetes, would
be very happy to be experimented on with embryonic stem
cells--Chris Reeve would certainly have before he died, and
Steven Hawking would likely also, at some point! I would
