BAGHDAD, Iraq - A resounding Shiite victory in next month's
elections will bring Iraq (news - web sites) closer to Tehran,
forming a "Super Iran" that could change the face of the Middle
East, critics say.
But others discount such claims as exaggerations and say Iraq, a
diverse country of Shiites, Sunnis, Kurds and Christians, will
never let any outside player, particularly Iran's hard-line
religious theocracy, dictate its future.
Views vary dramatically over what shape Iraq's political future
will take following nationwide elections scheduled for Jan. 30,
but few dispute that this Shiite-majority country's relations with
its eastern neighbor Ñ which is ruled by Shiite ayatollahs Ñ will
grow closer.

Godwin's Law
Godwin's Law /prov./ [Usenet] "As a Usenet discussion grows longer, the
probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches one." There
is a tradition in many groups that, once this occurs, that thread is over,
and whoever mentioned the Nazis has automatically lost whatever argument was
in progress. Godwin's Law thus practically guarantees the existence of an
upper bound on thread length in those groups.

I don't hate anyone Ray, and you know that. I'm all for LIFE, unless
it's people trying to kill us first. You only wish to extend basic
rights to a select few minorities, I wish to extend them to everyone,
including the pre-born. As far as Shiite v Sunni, who gives a shiite.

I don't hate anyone Ray, and you know that.

Except that you've written that you'd like to see gays dead, and you'd
like to have Muslims killed, and you want to force women to obey you
or die trying.

I'm all for LIFE,

Except for the thousands and millions of people you'd like to see
dead.

They'll edge closer to civil war. The Suni won't accept Shiite rule,
neither will the kurds.
